"You guys have a Starbucks in your cafeteria?!" Adrianna stared in awe as her new friend from Geometry, Kelly, laughed.
"Yeah of course! Its just a mini one anyway. But the barista is super drool worthy." Kelly was right. He was a hunk, green eyes and dirt blonde hair and a flirt too. He winked at Adrianna as she walked past the bar. She giggled.
" Oh don't steal that one to you whore! Every guy here is already drooling over you and your sister ," Kelly said playfully taking a cruton off of Adrianna's plate.
"Oh please," Adrianna replied laughing, but secretly loving the attention. Finally, they made it to the front of the cafeteria, and Adrianna pondered where to sit when she heard a shout.
"Hey new girl! Join us!" It was Leo, the boy from earlier. "Be careful girl." Kelly said giving her a pat on the back and walking away. The boy everyone seemed to be afraid of was calling her to his table. She didn't see what could be so wrong with such a face and personality so far, so she pretended not to notice A.J.'s warning glare from across the room and sat down at his table.
Leo was Greek god looking-- a heavenly face and out of this world body. With and irresistible smile to top it off.
"Hi! Arianna right? Right. I think you should know, with your arrival at this school you've made it to the top of my hot list, along with your sister." He high fived a couple boys beside him. Two girls next to her rolled their eyes in jealousy.
Adrianna also rolled her eyes at all of them. How lame, she thought, and got up to leave. "Wait!" Leo said, a mischevious grin on his face. "Usually I give new girls like you a little welcoming gift."
He reached under the table and grabbed at her thigh. She gasped and stood up. Him and his buddies laughed.
"You're thirsty." Adrianna said calmly. Then she grabbed her bottled water, took off the cap, and squeezed it between her clenched fist.
Laughter erupted throughout the lunchroom as the water rocketed from the bottle into Leo's face. When it was all gone, she dropped the empty plastic on one of the mean girls' plates, then took her tray and sat at A.J.'s table. "Sorry I didn't listen," she said. He was still laughing like the rest of the students.
" I won't say I told ya so, just because ya did that," A.J. laughed as they both watched Leo storm out of the cafeteria.
