PART 16 - THE HELPING FRIENDS

Its Friday and I am back with the next update. An early update as I got free from my work a bit this week 😀😀😀

"DEV LOVES SONAKSHI, SONAKSHI LOVES DEV"

As soon as both Jatin and Avni spoke there was shock and surprise written on their faces respectively. They were not sure whether they had heard it right, it was Avni who was first to come out of the shock.

"What did you just say? Sonakshi loves Dev? she asked in a confused tone as Jatin replied.

"Yes, she loves Dev? But wait a minute, you just said that Dev loves Sonakshi as well? Jatin asked being as confused as Avni. Avni nodded in a Yes with a bright smile on her face leaving Jatin more confused, all these days he felt that Dev and Avni were in a romantic relationship but right now the joy on her face conveyed something else, he knew he needed to get rid of his confusion.

"Aren't you Unhappy?" he asked as Avni looked at him in confusion

"Why would I be unhappy?" she asked as in an instant Jatin replied.

"Because I thought you lo..." he blurted but stopped the next moment unable to understand how to put it before Avni, while on one side his brain told him that he did not have the right to ask anything about the relationship she shared with Dev but on the other side who would make his heart understand the same, the very heart which loved Avni immensely and hoped that one day she will become his once again.

"You thought I...?" questioned Avni as Jatin kept quiet while looking down unable to meet her eyes, it was then it dawned to Avni what Jatin was trying to say.

"You thought that I love Dev right??" she asked as Jatin looked everywhere but at her which confirmed Avni's doubts and the very next moment she burst out laughing as Jatin looked at her while between her laughs Avni said "You thought...Hahaha...How could you...Hahaha" as Jatin looked embarrassed for making a fool out of himself, he looked at Avni once again and that's when he noticed her laugh, it was first time since they had met after six years that she was laughing before him without any apprehension. How he missed this laugh of her which was first thing in her to which he had been attracted to, the child like laugh which conveyed an unbridled joy and happiness. He was elated that Avni did not love Dev and the hope of getting his love back grew stronger in him.

As Avni calmed down she felt Jatin's intense gaze on her as she grew conscious, she mentally scolded herself for acting like that before him, it was then that something stuck her mind as she asked, "By the way why did you think that I loved Dev?" as he stood quietly while Avni continued "We are childhood friends, in fact best friends and there's nothing more between us other than that" she finished unable to understand why she felt like justifying her relationship with Dev before Jatin who was happy that Avni was finally comfortable talking to him in a relaxed way.

"Anyways we need to get back to our work Mr. Roy, we are not here to discuss anyone's love life" said Avni trying to get control over her feelings as well as the situation, all these days though she pretended in front of everyone that she was happy but inside she was dying ever since Jatin had come back in her life. The love for him which she thought had died was resurfacing back and she hated that as it made her vulnerable which she did not want, not before Jatin. All this while Jatin was observing her closely.
