Dev kept looking longingly at the car as it exited the office compound, a faint smile played on his lips. He did not know how to react, it was the first time for him that apart from his friends and family he felt love for someone, but he felt different about it. He could not exactly pin point what it was, but he felt as if he was liberated & felt at peace, he once again thought back to all the moments he spent with Sonakshi. Their first accidental meet, the train ride, the walk on the beach, the unofficial dinner date at Kolkata and as he thought back it dawned to him that with her every moment he spent was special. It was as if he could spend his time with her without any worry away from the world in solitude, is this what love does to you? He reminisced their walk on the beach and his words to her "their's nothing that soothes the soul than a walk on the beach" and it is then he realized that with her every walk would soothe his soul, So lost was in his thoughts that he did not see that someone was observing him from the past 5 minutes and it was none other than Avni.
"What's matter Dev, where are you lost?" asked Avni as she tapped his shoulders to bring him out of his reverie. Dev turned towards her but as Avni saw him she was surprised for she could see tears in his eyes which he himself was unknown to, she waited for him to speak.
"I love her Avni, I love her" he said holding her shoulders as she smiled, she exactly knew about whom he was speaking but wanted to hear it from him, so she asked "Who?"
"I love Sonakshi, Avni. I love her. You were so right, I was falling in love with her every moment, but I did not realize it until now. I was such a fool" he said as he laughed ruffling his hairs and twirled Avni around who joined with him in his laughter, after they calmed down Avni spoke.
"That you are, you are definitely a fool Dev" she said as she tapped his head lightly while he smiled.
"So, when are you going to express your feelings to her?" she asked as Dev's smile suddenly faded remembering something as anxiety and confusion etched his face which Avni did not miss.
"What happened Dev, why do you look anxious?" she asked
"She went away Avni, she went away. I was calling her to speak but she just ignored me and went away" he spoke, his voice turning sad and confused.
"What do you mean, Dev?" she asked as he replied "I wanted to speak to her after our meeting Avni, I called her while she was waiting for her cab and I am sure she heard me yet she just ignored and went away Avni" Dev said in a panicky voice as Avni stayed silent confused at Sonakshi's behavior
"Avni, Do you think she is hurt because I hid my true identity from her? Do you think she will accept my love? Why did she ignore me Avni? What if she does not have the same feelings for me as I have for her? How will I handle her rejection Avni? Dev fired a barrage of questions at Avni, it was clear to her that friend was turning hysterical and she could exactly connect with him as she had gone through the same when she fell in love with Jatin, she mentally scolded herself to getting carried away in the past once again, right now Dev was her priority and she needed to allay his fears.
"Dev, Dev calm down. Nothing like what you are thinking is going to happen. If your love is true, then no force can stop you guys from being each other's. Calm down buddy" she said holding his hand trying to calm him down as his breathing returned to normal.
