As soon as the elevator doors closed, Kayla turned to me and gripped my shoulders as she jumped up and down, squealing. "OH MY GOD! That's Ashton?!" She held up her hand for a high five and I laughed, high-fiving her quickly.

"Told you he was cute" I smirked and pulled back from her grip, smiling to myself. I honestly couldn't believe someone that looked like that even gave me a glance. That didn't change the fact I was hesitant to accept what even might be feelings for him, I had been hurt numerous times in the past and I wasn't ready to go through that again. I'll admit I have some serious abandonment issues, no not the kind where I can't ever be alone or I have anxiety or something like that. It's more like when people leave me emotionally rather than physically. When someone leaves and you're used to having them around, you have to learn how to live without them always being there for you. That's hard to do, now think of having to go through that with your own mother and father. That was the hardest thing I ever had to do, I was on my own and I wasn't even an adult yet when my mother died. The doctors said they couldn't do anything, the chemotherapy had stopped working and they had tried everything. When she died I went downhill fast, I stopped eating and going out, I struggled with self-harm and I lost a lot of "friends".

Luckily, Kayla had stayed by my side and now she was really the only friend I had. We had met each other in 8th grade and instantly clicked. It was like friendship at first sight instead of love at first sight. That's a weird comparison I know but she helped me get out of the massive hole I had dug for myself. I put my self into therapy for my mental issues, I had only stopped going about a month ago because my counselor said I was doing better and could finally be done after almost two years.

I was pulled out of my thoughts by Kayla, grabbing my hand and quite literally dragging me out of the elevator. Apparently, I had been staring off into space for a little while now because we were on my floor and the doors were starting to close in front of me. I jumped out of the elevator and shook my head, trying to get rid of the dark thoughts that were trying to sneak into my mind.

"Are you okay?" She looked at me with a frown on her face.

"Huh? Oh y-yeah I'm fine" I put on my most reassuring smile as I pulled out my keys to unlock my door. I could see Kayla shake her head in the corner of my eye but she didn't push it which i was thankful for. I walked into the apartment, dropping my keys on the kitchen counter and sliding my shoes off.

*Ashton's POV*

I left the apratment building with a smile on my face and for once I was glad that I was late to band practice. I got to see her. I know we only met on Monday but damn, she was beautiful and perfect. I am crushing hard and I couldn't help myself. She looked so adorable when she bit her lip or tried to hide her face whenever she blushed.

I got into a cab that was sitting on the curb and told the driver the address as I leaned against the door and let myself fall into the thoughts involving Elsie.

*Elsie's POV*

It was now 9PM and I was finshing up curling my hair for tonight. Kayla and I were going to a new club, it was her idea of course. I would rather stay in and watch Netflix or sit on Tumblr but I guess it was good to go out and see actual people also.

Kayla came out of my room wearing her new black dress and slipping on a pair of black heels that looked like it would poke a hole in someone's foot if she accidently stepped on them. Her lilac hair was perfectly styled as always and she rolled a tube of red lipstick over her lips. I turned the curling iron off and ran my fingers through my hair, loosening them up some.

"Damn I look good" Kayla walked over to me, looking at herself in the mirror.

I laughed and rolled on a final coat of mascara before taking a step back and slipping on my less intimidating heels and smiled at myself. I actually didn't look half bad, thanks to Kayla mostly. I fluffed my hair up and walked out of the bathroom, grabbing my keys. "Kayla come on! Let's go!"

"Okay okay! I'm coming!"

-

Once we arrived, we walked up to the bouncer at the door, which happened to be the job Kayla's cousin had got. He smiled and gave Kayla a hug before moving the rope and letting us walk in, causing the long line of people to yell and groan. As we walked in, I was shocked to see that this wasnt just some filthy club, it was actually clean and looked nice.

We walked over to the bar and sat on some of the stools in front of the bar tender. Kayla ordered us a drink I had never heard of before but I didn't question it much. She knew what I liked, and tonight I just wanted to drink. I leaned against the bar, letting my eyes scan over the crowded dance floor. A couple minutes later my attention was turned back to the bar as Kayla slid my drink towards me.

I took a sip of the drink, letting it sit in my mouth for a second. It tasted sweet but still had the bitterness of alcohol. "This is actually good" I spoke, taking another drink and Kayla smirked. "Yeah, I know" She lauged but stopped suddenly before looking behind me.

I turned to see what she was looking out and felt a frown instantly come across my face. There was a guy standing behind me, his arm snaking around my waist. I crinkled my nose as he breathed down on me in a disgusting smile. He looked about 30 and you could smell the alcohol on his breath. "Can I get you beautiful ladies another round?" I rolled my eyes, trying to push his arm off my waist.

"No thank you, we're good" Kayla spoke not trying to hide her disgust in her voice.

"Awe, come on. You look like you could use another drink." He looked down at me and tried to call over the bartender.

"I think they said no lad" Another voice appeared causing the greasy man to turn his head, along with Kayla and I. I raised my brows in surprise as I saw Ashton along with his other 3 friends trailing behind him.

"Now, you should probably leave them alone" Ashton was now standing right next to us and glaring at the man behind me.

"Oh go away, you don't know what they want" The man spoke in a deep voice, instantly standing taller even though Ashton still towered over him. "I said, leave" Ashton spoke more sternly this time, looking down at the man. The mystery creep just rolled his eyes, muttering a couple cuss words before walking off.

Once the creeper man was gone, Ashton's demeanor instantly changed from harsh to nice and sweet. Ashton looked down at me and smiled, his dimples popping out of his cheeks. "Hey beautfiul, how'd you get in here?"

I blushed lightly and turned to Kayla, "Her cousin is the bouncer outside" Ashton nodded before taking my hand in his. "Well come on, me and my friends are sitting in the lounge over there." I glanced over at Kayla and she looked up at Ashton. "Your friend can come too" Ashton smiled at Kayla before pulling me to my feet and through the crowded dance floor to a lounge on the other side of the club. Kayla walked behind me and as we got there, we sat down on the emptier couch. Ashton sat beside me, putting his arm around my shoulders, causing me to lean into him a little.

I looked over at Kayla as she sat on the couch beside me, her eyes glued to the other sofa. I looked over to the other side and smirked to myself as I saw a guy staring back at her. He had blonde hair that stuck up and went around the beanie he was wearing and he had a lip peircing that he was biting into, his eyes moving down and back up Kayla's body.

Ashton apparently noticed  too because he chuckled to himself and looked between the two. "Kayla, meet Luke, Luke meet Kayla" Ashton pulled me closer as Luke looked to Kayla, who was not bright red from blushing and Luke chuckled. "Hello Kayla" He smiled and stood, walking over to her and taking her hand. They wispered to eachother before they both stood and started to walk off. Kayla turned back towards me, looking for approval. I nodded and she grinned, walking off with Luke.

I leaned into Ashton, he turned to the other people sitting on the couch across from us. "Mates this is Elsie, she's my..friend" I looked at the guys and smiled, "Yeah we've met before" I nodded to Calum and Michael before seeing Michael's arm around a girl. She smiled sweetly before speaking, "Hey I'm Sara, Michael's girlfriend." I nodded and we began talking as Ashton and the other guys began talking about the band.

A/N: Sorry that's an awkward ending but yeah. Its getting better! Yay! Don't forget to vote and comment! It only takes a second to vote! It would mean the world to me :D
