A/N: Wow I'm so sorry I just have disappeared lately! Here's an update!

I walked up to Kayla's apartment door, brushing the last of the snow off of my boots and knocked lightly. When she opened it, she had bags under her eyes and her hair was a mess. I immediately pulled her into a hug and started crying, as she did as well.

"I-I'm so sorry" Kayla muttered, into my shoulder.

"I'm sorry too" I cried, not caring that both our tears were staining the other's shirts.

We eventually moved from our position in the entry way of her apartment and were sat on the couch, holding mugs of hot chocolate just like in a cliche chick flick.

After an hour of sitting there and talking about everything, many tears shed, our empty mugs now sat on the coffee table. "So have you talked to him at all..?" Kayla spoke, it seeming like she chose her words carefully.

I pulled my lip between my teeth, looking down at my conjoined hands. "No. I think the boys have gone to see him once or twice but I've never gone with him. I'm still.." I sighed heavily and shook my head.

"It's alright, I get it." She nodded before getting up and grabbing both our empty coffee mugs and placing them in the sink that was in her kitchen. Once she came back she smiled at me, "Are you hungry? We could go to that little diner that we used to go to when we were broke."

"Yess! We haven't been there in a while!" I grinned and she nodded.

"Let me shower and get ready quickly. You can use my straightener if you want too" I nodded quickly as she ran off to her bathroom to shower and I walked into her room to use her straightener. I sat at her dressing table and set my phone next to hers as I waited for the straightener to heat up. After a few seconds it started blinking but at the same moment as I started to reach for it, Kayla's phone started ringing and someone's name popped up on her screen, along with their picture.

Luke.

Were they talking again? I instead let her phone go to voice mail, not going to intrude. I picked up and begun straightening my messy natural hair.

After I finished, Kayla came into the room with fresh clothes on and her hair already styled. I tended to zone out while doing my hair so it took a lot longer than usual.

"Come onn! Let's go get food!" She spoke, quickly grabbing her phone from the charger. I stood up, grabbing my own and we left the apartment building as we begun our walk down the street to Debby's Diner.

Once we arrived we left the hot summery air of December and into the air conditioned old fashioned diner. It was set up to make you feel like you walked bak into the 50's.

It was styled with black and white tiled floor, light blue and white booths that lined the wall, that wall being the home to huge windows. The walls were painted a soft pink and there were old pictures of the diner and people that had came through all along the walls. there were antique signs hanging along the walls with it and there was a bar that was across the other side. The bar was white and spotless, homing a coffee pot, fresh baked pies and muffins. It had silver, blue cushioned bar stools along the bar and and behind that bar was an old woman, Debby. She was short, only maybe 5'7 and had white hair with blue eyes. There was the usual pink apron tied around her waist as Freddy, the cook, stood behind the window to the kitchen cooking everyone's orders.

Kayla and I sat in our usual booth in the corner of the building that was slightly secluded. We took our seat and Darla, Debby's 19 year old daughter, came over to our table. "Hey Elsie, Kayla! It's been a while since you've been around!" She spoke with a slight New Zealand accent. She had dark brown hair, from her Kiwi father most likely, blue eyes from her mother and was about the same height as Debby. She was beautiful no doubt and it was surprising that she was single still.

"I know, we've just been so busy" Kayla said, frowning softly.

"So what will it be girls?" Darla asked, shrugging off the comment before and giving us a smile.

"Chocolate banana milkshakes" Kayla and I spoke at the exact same time.

Darla laughed and nodded as she wrote it down before going behind the counter to make our milkshakes.

After a few minutes, she came back with two old fashioned milkshake glasses and set them down in front of us. "Thank you" I spoke softly, shooting her a smile as I started drinking the milkshake through the straw.

Kayla's phone buzzed on the table, Luke's name once again lighting up on the screen. She quickly reached for the device, in hopes for me not to see but it was to late.

"So.. Layla is happening once more?" I smirked, twirling my straw in the thick chocolate liquid.

Kayla's face blushed deeply and she turned off her phone screen and looked at me, "I've been meaning to tell you.."

I squealed unattractively, "Kayla! That's so good!" I grinned.

"We are just talking, mostly fixing things. I'm trying to get him to forgive me..and for you too." She looked down, sadly.

"What I did was wrong," She continued, "but I know that now and after all of you pushed me out, it gave me time to think about it and I regret the whole thing. I could come up with thousands of excuses but it wouldn't be truth. What I did was stupid and selfish, but I promise you that it won't happen again." I scoffed slightly but smiled nonetheless.

"It's alright Kayla. Ashton's gone to rehab. He'll most likely be there for a while." I nodded reassuringly as she began drinking her own milkshake. "PlusIkindalikeCalumnow" I said really quickly.

Kayla's eyes bulged from their sockets, "Elsie Martin! What did you just say?!"

"I said I kinda like Calum now..." I looked anywhere but her gaze.

"But what about how he tried to touch you and all that shit when you first met" I shrugged and laughed softly.

"Would it be weird to say that when he did touch my arm int eh very beginning I felt a small spark I ignored it for obvious reasons then but now.." It was my turn to blush.

"So you do like me eh?" A deep accented voice said from behind me. I jumped and turned around, only to be greeted by Calum. Michael and Luke stood behind them before they all three slipped into our booth, Calum next to me and then Michael next to him and Luke next to Kayla.

"So what's this about you liking me?" Calum looked down at me, smirking. I slapped his chest playfully and felt the heat rise to my cheeks.

"You already know I do, don't make it a big deal"

"Yeah I know" He grinned, kissing my cheek and we both turned to the rest of the people at the table. Luke and Kayla were in what looked like a deep conversation but not a dangerous, angry one.

I reached for where my milkshake was and was only met with empty air. I looked at the table and then at everyone and saw Michael downing what was left of my milkshake. "Michael! What are you doing?" He pulled the milkshake glass away from his face and smiled innocently, slowly putting it back where it was on the table.

"Nothing..?" He said slowly, wiping the milkshake mustache off his upper lip. I started laughing and we spent the rest of the night sitting at that table and laughing about anything and everything that came up in conversation.

It was nice to have a relaxing night with everyone, there wasn't any stress and everyone was in a good, joking mood.

But then at the end of the night, someone called my phone. After weeks of not talking, he somehow got a phone.

Ashton.

A/N: Woooooowwww I haven't updated in years. I am so sorry for that! I am going to go back to doing a somewhat scheduled writing (at least once a week), everything is getting a lot better. I'm sorry this isn't really long but I really want to slow this book down because I do have big plans for it :)

Thank you all for sticking around!
