A/N: Warning, this chapter is sort of dark and depressing. I apologize.

Darkness. That's all that surrounded me. I could hear a faint beeping and voices in the background around me. I struggled to even open my eyes and after a few minutes I stopped and tried to concentrate on the voices around me.

"What's wrong with her?" A young girly voice spoke.

"She is extremely malnourished." A deeper, more professional voice said.

"She has been eating though." The girl's voice spoke again.

"There is reason to believe she has..regurgitated the food after consuming it."

I could hear someone gasp and stand from what sounded like a chair quickly and another, deep Aussie accented voice spoke, "What? I'm with her a lot of the time and I've never seen her do anything like that!" He seemed angry and finally I got my eyelids to flutter open, wincing at the bright intense light that shone through out the pale white clean room. I saw a doctor, Kayla and Ashton standing at the foot of my bed, talking about me as if I wasn't literally a foot away from them. Kayla was the first to notice I was awake and she quickly moved to my side, taking my hand in hers. "Elsie, you're awake" She spoke in a soothing tone and I just replied with a very weak smile before noticing the tubes and wires coming from my hands and arms. "I'll give you three some time alone" The doctor spoke before disappearing out of the door.

Ashton brought a chair over for Kayla which she took gratefully and he sat on the bed careful not to move me. "Am I in the hospital?" My voice was weak and hoarse but I didn't remember much. Through the window I could see the moon and some stars shining in the sky, I guess I had passed out for a couple hours. "How long was I out?" Kayla looked to Ashton for him to answer and he sighed before speaking, "2 days and yes you're in the hospital. You passed out and I called 911 and they brought you here, you passed out from malnutrition along with other things." I sat up carefully, quickly realizing I was wearing a floral hospital gown and to much of my disapproval, it was short sleeved and showed my scars both new and old. I quickly put my arms under the blanket hoping no one had seen them but by the look Ashton and Kayla both gave me, it appeared that they all had. I sighed before removing my arms from under the blankets and curling up my knees to my chest and hugging my arms around them. "I-I'm sorry" I put my forehead against my knees and sighed again, unsure of what to say. "I didn't know what to do and it was this or take more pills but you took all of them so I couldn't," I rambled "and it was right there and I was lonely and stressed and I was scared" I looked up at them both and realized then that I had tears streaming down my face. Ashton leaned forward and wiped away the tears before Kayla engulfed me in a hug. "We should be the ones apologizing for what we did" I winced at her words as the memories before blacking out returned.

They kissed each other

Behind your back

Don't trust anyone

You should know this, you will always get hurt

You don't matter

Never trust anyone

Ever

These thoughts raced through my mind and I looked back down at my knees, pulling my lip between my teeth as I suddenly felt really awkward. "I'll let you two talk" Kayla broke the silence before standing and leaving the room. Ashton moved closer to me and ran his fingers through my tangled brown hair. "Elsie..I'm so sorry. You have to believe me. I was drunk..I know that's a shitty excuse and there really isn't any excuse but I want you to trust me. I need you to trust me." He spoke sweetly at first but as it went on, his voice grew rougher. "I am not letting you go" He sounded angry almost, causing me to wince once more.
