Chapter 69

Jimin stood behind the curtain that separated him from the stage and the audience. In a few minutes he would be up there, performing his dance in front off a roomful of strangers. He didn't think he'd ever been so scared in his life, not even when he met up with Yoongi for the first time. His hands shaking, he ran through his routine in his head one more time, bile rising up in his throat.

Just as he was about to turn and run, the host announced his name through the speakers, and he nervously pulled back the curtain to step onto the stage.

Once he stepped on and took his position waiting for the music to start up, he realised it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. The blaring spotlights made it impossible to see that far into the audience, and the faces he could see were mostly familiar to him or his best friends. He noticed Taehyung give him a thumbs up and he tried his hardest to bite back a smile and keep professional.

As the music started up he started moving slowly and gracefully. He scanned the faces in the audience of what he could see and almost stopped his movements. There, in the third row, sitting beside Jin was a face that was more than familiar. Yoongi was staring at him from his seat, a slight smile on his face. He looked more gorgeous than ever, Jimin thought, gulping, as he fought his brain to ignore the small figure and focus on his dancing. He got it together and carried on perfectly and gracefully, but he couldn't help stealing little glances every now and then. Every little peek was like a encouragement to him, keeping him going. He wanted to be perfect. Of course for himself and the audience and the judges, but especially now for his beautiful ex boyfriend who was watching him with enchanting eyes.

Somehow, God knows how, Jimin finished his performance and received a loud round of applause. He bowed perfectly like he was taught and almost ran off the stage. As he calmed himself in the corridor just off of the stage, he realised what he had to do. He had to find Yoongi and tell him how he still felt about him. How he'd been going mad these past few months without him. He wanted to asked him why he acted like that in the pub - why he ran away - but knew it was probably from the sudden shock of seeing him again. After all, Jimin was pretty shocked at seeing him too.

As he started to stride purposely down the corridor, he saw Yoongi and everyone else coming his way. He was about to call out, but Taehyung ran up to him and almost knocked him over from jumping on him so hard.

Taehyung was saying praises to him, as was the rest of his friends, but none of their words were really registering as he kept his eyes trained on Yoongi, who had stayed a little way back from the commotion. Jimin finally managed to break past all his loud friends, and made his way to stand in front of his beloved.

"Yoongi hyung."
