The Crystals Emerge

Chapter 6: Birthday Party

"Thanks, Haze, for coming over for my party to set up," said Xavier.

"No problem," said Haze. "Who is all coming to your party?"

"I know that Zona, Jaden, Ellen, Milze, and you. Oh yeah, Zona's mom, Margaret, is coming too."

"Okay.What do you want me to help with now?"

"You can go and see if the cake is done or not."

"Okay."

Haze went into the kitchen. Xavier looked down at his phone. He got a text from Ellen.

"Sorry Xavier, I'm not able to make it today, some stuff came up."

Xavier text back "it's fine."

Haze walked back into the room. "Never mind about Ellen," said Xavier."She says that she can't come."

"Why?"said Haze.

"I don't know. She just said that something came up."

"Have you been noticing that Ellen has been acting weird lately?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well,why was she still at school at 5pm? And she is always where we are."

"I don't know. Maybe she likes to study or she got detention." said Xavier.

"I guess..." said Haze

A couple hours have passed by and the guests started to show up.

"Hey guys, said Xavier. "I'm so glad you made it." Everyone started to get some food.

Zona walked up to Xavier. "Hey Xavier, did you find any more crystals?"

"No,it's been a while since I captured one."

"You need to start working on that, it was about a month ago since you captured one," said Zona.

"You can work on it too, you agreed to help me," said Xavier.

"Yeah,I know, I'm just lazy," said Zona. She ran off.

Xavier heard a voice in his head, and it kept on saying "happy birthday."

"That's really weird," Xavier thought to himself.

Jaden put his arm around Xavier's neck. Jaden has brown hair with green eyes and wight skin color "Hey dude," said Jaden.

"Jaden,I can't breathe," said Xavier. Jaden let go of Xavier.

Xavier gasped for air. "What do you need, Jaden?"

"I was wondering if we can go outside," said Jaden.

"That sounds like a great idea," said Xavier's mom. "I was just walking by and I heard your conversation, so I want all of you to go outside."

"Fine,come on guys, let's go outside."

All of Xavier's friends went outside. Everyone was outside playing and talking. Xavier was talking to Milze. Milze has black hair, brown eyes with glasses, and a dark skin color.

"Are you having a good time? said Xavier.

"Yeah,I'm having fun," said Milze. "Oh yeah, Xavier, there is a new season trailer out for "Why Not." I'll have to email it to you."

"Okay,"said Xavier. "I need to get more food. I'll be right back." said Xavier. He went back into the house. It was empty because everyone was outside. Xavier looked into the cake box. There was something shiny in it.

"It's a Crystal," said Xavier.

"You got me," said the crystal. The creature came out of the cake. He had a crown of candles on his head. He had a black suit, red eyes,and a cake staff.

"Were you the one that kept saying 'happy birthday' in my head?" said Xavier.

"Yup,you got it, friend. Are you the one that gets called Xavier?"

"Yes, why?"

"Because your name has been going around, so the boss told me to finish you and When I'm doing that I can try to find my lost love."

Xavier ran upstairs and got his sister's baseball bat. Xavier hid under a table. He grabbed Joshua's Crystal. He made the Crystal touch the bat. The bat began to glow and grew thorns.He heard foot steps coming closer.

"I know where you are now." The Cake Crystal flipped the table that Xavier was underneath. Xavier smacked the bat right on his head. The Crystal cried out in pain.

"Why you little," said the Cake Crystal.

Xavier hit the cake Crystal's legs. The cake Crystal screamed in pain again and fell on the ground.

"Is that all you got?" said Xavier.

The Cake Crystal got up and started shooting lit candles at him. Xavier started getting burned by the candles. He ran downstairs.

"You're not getting away that easily!" The Cake Crystal chased Xavier. Xavier went into the kitchen.

He bumped right into Milze. They both fell on the ground.

"I finally caught up to you," said the Cake Crystal.

"What the heck is that thing?" said Milze. "Oh no, what am I going to do?"

The Crystal started to get closer to Milze. "Get away from me!" Milze grabbed a cup of water and splashed the crystal with it. One of the candles on his head went out.

"Oh no, my candle!"

He and Milze grabbed cups of water and started splashing the Cake Crystal with them. All of the cake Crystal's candles went out.

"Oh no, I'm melting and I never got to see my lost love either!" He just became a Crystal. The Crystal was shaped like a birthday cake.Xavier picked up the Crystal.

Milze looked over at Xavier. "What was that thing?"

Xavier sat Milze down and explained what happened. Xavier and Milze went back outside and pretended that nothing happened.Xavier told Zona and Haze what happened.

"Why do we always miss all the action?" said Haze. Everyone went inside and Xavier opened his gifts and ate some cake.
