"Who is that?" I whispered to Luke. We are currently at lunch and Calum was walking in with some brunette.
"That's Gabby. They met at the hospital yesterday when she was visiting her grandmum in the hospital. Calum really likes her." Luke told me. Calum kissed her nose and I smiled. I'm glad he finally found somebody. It seemed like forever.
"Babe, what do you want to do after school today?" I asked Luke. He smirked at me.
"You up for an adventure?" He asked.
"Hell yeah!" I said excitedly.
"Meet me in the parking lot after gym." He said. The bell rang and I'm off the hell or as some people call it "math".
-
I walked out of the school with my tank dragging behind me. The stares and comments had calmed down, but quickly picked back up when I got told I only had till February to live. It's an odd to see a 18 year old girl with an oxygen tank. But, I'm getting used to it.
I saw Luke leaning up against his car with his sunglasses covering his bright blue eyes. He looked up from his phone and smiled at me. I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around his waist. I dug my head into his chest.
"You ready?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm ready." He opened the passenger door and I slid in. He shut the door, than got in next to me. He took my hand in his. He put his key in the ignition and started to back out of hell's driveway.
"So, how did the rest of school go?" Luke said, trying to start a conversation.
"Shitty, the usual. How 'bout yours?"
"It was fine, just got a lot 'sorry about your girlfriend'." He shrugged. That was one of the downsides of dying. Everybody is apologizing in advance. I mean, I'm not dead yet!
"The perks of dying," I said. I turned away from Luke and looked out the windshield. I had no idea where we are going, but I didn't care. "Um, babe, where are we going?"
"We are going to Melbourne," He said, smirking. I started to squeal in my seat because I've always wanted to go to Melbourne. The only thing about this trip is that it would take several hours to get there.
"Luke, that's like 7 hours from here," I stated.
"That's why I rented a hotel room and packed a bunch of food." He pointed to back, that was filled with bags.
"Wait, does my mom know?" I asked. The last time I stayed out with Luke, my sister covered for me. And she is back in London.
"Of course. She said that it was fine, but I just have to bring you back with your virginity." I started to laugh. After I started to calm down, Luke put in a mixtape that said "Kadee's Mixtape" on it.
"Luke, what is that?" I asked him.
"I went through your music and find a playlist called "FAVORITES!" so I created this so when you leave, I have something to look back on except the millions of pictures living in my phone." He said. I kissed his cheek.
"That's so sweet." He pressed play and the first song I didn't recognized. It was an acoustic, and the person singing was Luke.
I drove by all the places we used to hang out getting wasted
I thought about our last kiss, how it felt the way you tasted
And even though your friends tell me you're doing fine
Are you somewhere feeling lonely even though he's right beside you?
When he says those words that hurt you, do you read the ones I wrote you?
