Chapter 4- Straubee

Straub sat in his car, gazing off into space. He still wasn't sure if he was ready for this. He ran a hand through his freshly cut hair, sighed, and undid his seatbelt.

He had just driven the long drive all the way to Bee's house. Well, it wasn't like he went out of his way just for this trip. He was in the general area visiting family, but even then the drive had been a couple of hours.

He sighed again, and stepped out of the car. He gulped multiple times as he walked up the front steps of her house. He knocked on the door twice, hard, then shoved his hands into his pockets.

He heard her running down the stairs, and she swung the door open wide. Her mouth dropped open, and she leaped into his arms. "Mitchell!" She squealed, and Straub hugged her tightly.

"Um, haha, hey Bee." He said awkwardly, and she gave him a strange look.

"Are you alright?" She pressed, and at the same time she beckoned him in. He sat on her couch, and she sat in the arm chair directly across from it.

"Y-yeah!" He said at once. "I mean, I don't know. Maybe? It depends."

She furrowed her brows. "Depends on what?"

"You're reaction." He moaned, putting his head in his hands. He raised his head, connected his eyes with Bee's worried ones, and said with as much courage as he could muster "Bee, here's the thing. I like you, a lot. Like, a lot a lot. So all I'm asking here, is that you'll please feel the same way. Like, I'm really hoping here you do, because if you don't, well, that's awkward. Haha."

He groaned internally. That didn't really come out quite right.

Bee sat there, biting her lip. After what felt like ages, she cracked a smile. "Mitchell, I really really like you too. I-I'm so surprised you feel the same way!"

Straub grinned, so widely he thought his face would split, but all he could manage to say was "Sweet."
