Knowing - jikook au

Apprehension.

Apprehension. Jungkook had a lot of apprehension about finding Jimin, because of the thought that Jimin might be happy with his new life. If he showed up in Jimin's life, it might ruin everything for him, and he wanted Jimin to be happy, but... he couldn't deny that it would hurt if he had found happiness without Jungkook, when Jungkook couldn't find happiness without him. That's why he decided to sit and wait for Jimin to come home. He would always be there if Jimin couldn't find happiness, and wanted to return to him.

Jungkook's declaration of this was in the form of a cover, the same cover that was on Taehyung's mind, an English cover which the blogger had to google the Korean translation for in order to understand, and felt his heart sink once he had done so.

It was surprising to see one up - the dancer used to post them frequently before Jimin's disappearance, and only very rarely since. It was less surprising when Taehyung realised what the cover was for, or rather who it was for.
It was a message, a message for Jimin, telling him that if he wasn't happy then he could return home, that Jungkook would be waiting for him, that he wasn't alone because Jungkook was always there and always would be.

Taehyung didn't understand Jungkook's way of thinking. If Jungkook was so unhappy without Jimin, then how could he just sit and wait for Jimin to come back to him? Taehyung understood that he stopped searching because he didn't want to upset Jimin, left the choice of their reunion to him, but... Jimin had been so happy with Jungkook, there was video evidence all over the internet to show it, and somehow the latter didn't see it, didn't seem to understand that Jimin would be happy with him, too. Taehyung knew that reuniting would probably hurt at first, it would be weird if it didn't, but in the long term it would bring them so much happiness, happiness that both of them could probably never experience anywhere else. They had shared a bond so wonderful, so amazing, one that Jungkook was just giving up on. If Jimin was going to come back on his own accord, then he would have done so by now, and Jungkook was foolish enough to believe otherwise and give up his search, when Jimin probably wanted Jungkook back just as much as Jungkook wanted Jimin.

But for some reason, Jungkook was going to sit at home and wait for Jimin, because he believed that if Jimin ever wanted Jungkook then he'd come back, not understanding that it wasn't that easy, life just didn't work like that. And that... that's probably why Taehyung couldn't stop reading the message he'd received on Spotlight the previous day, over and over again.

My name is Yoongi. There is no way to say this without sounding creepy or suspicious but I have information on Park Jimin that I think you'll be interested to know. However, I cannot disclose this information to you without reassurance of Park Jimin's safety, which means that I need to know I can trust you. You need to tell me what you know about Park Jimin's disappearance, everything you know which you haven't posted on Spotlight.'

Taehyung was hesitant. At first, he had replied telling them he wasn't interested and left it at that, because he had no idea who this Yoongi person was. They could be trying to hurt Jimin for all he knew, bluffing about knowing information on Jimin to try and find out extra secrets which they could publish, secrets that nobody but Jimin and people he trusted should be able to know. Well, Taehyung wasn't trusted by Jimin but he trusted Jungkook (or at least, he used to), and Taehyung liked to believe that he was trusted by extension. But now, as Taehyung thought about his leads, this Yoongi person seemed to be the only one, and he was itching to message them telling them he had reconsidered.

What to do, what to do? On one hand, this person could be out to hurt Jimin but... on the other, this person could actually know something which could lead to them finding Jimin, which would, in turn, lead to Jikook's eternal happiness. It was so difficult, and Taehyung was so indecisive about it... the only thing he could really think to do was reply to the person to find out if he could trust them.
