Frustration. Jungkook was overcome with it, the frustration at facing dead ends at every turn.
Doctor Lee had denied any knowledge that Jimin was still alive. Jungkook had marched into his office and demanded to know what happened to Park Jimin, but the doctor simply gave him a confused expression and explained how he had died from lung cancer, no hint of knowing anything extra displayed on his face. Jungkook had proceeded to angrily storm out of the hospital, a bewildered Taehyung trailing along behind him.
It had been two days since they had visited the hospital, and neither had brought up Jimin. Jungkook had been busy sorting out his new apartment (which he should have done ages ago, but moping around in Taejoon's apartment was more comforting than moping around in his new, empty one) and Taehyung was catching up on all the posts he should have made, yet hadn't. His Spotlighters were starting to wonder where he'd been, and he felt bad for neglecting them... but Jungkook came first. He'd abandon his blog for months if it meant the happiness of one of his friends.
After all, he didn't make the blog with the intention of gaining masses of followers and popularity. He'd made it because to him, gossip was always something bad. The gossip about him that he had to endure made him sick to his stomach, a feeling he felt every time he heard the word. It had become this massive obstacle in his mind that he couldn't overcome.
So, in an attempt to get over it, he made Spotlight, with the hopes of turning gossip into something positive; something which wasn't filled with lies and judgement, but truth and praise. That's what he focused on with his blog, and why he refused to post rumours without making it clear that that's exactly what they were - rumours, and therefore, inaccurate until proven otherwise.Unfortunately, rumours were the only things Jimin's old friends seem to hold. Jungkook had managed to get in touch with most of them in the past two days, and reported back to Taehyung that Jimin had told none of them that he was leaving, and had not contacted any of them since. They had no idea where he was - all of them figured that Jungkook would know, if anything. He told Taehyung that it was very frustrating; everywhere he turned, all he heard was 'I thought you'd know, Jungkook'. But he didn't.
They met up in a cafe after their quick, two day break. They didn't say much at first, made small talk about what they spent their days doing and finally settled on swirling their stirrers in their hot drinks, staring out of the window and trying to think of where they could go next. It seemed that every pathway they turned down ended up as a dead end, the beacon showing Jimin's location getting duller and duller as they ran desperately towards it through the maze of chaos Jimin had left them. And what would they do if that happened? Jimin wouldn't be sitting in a lighthouse waiting for them, he would be ducking into the darkest cave to hide himself away, that is if he was still alive. The beacon of possible clues was their only hope, and it was fading fast.
Jungkook caught sight of a man outside the cafe, wearing a black bucket hat, and memories of Jimin sparked in his mind. The two had once taken a trip to Tokyo to dance in a competition, and then stayed afterwards to sightsee and explore. Jimin had worn a black bucket hat on the day they had gone to Disneyland Tokyo, in an attempt to draw less attention to them because by that point, they had a fair number of fans. Jungkook pulled his hood up and hid his face with a camera, filming Jimin being goofy and some of the sights they saw, clips he was going to use in a video as a gift for Jimin, something to show him just how much he was on Jungkook's mind... Jungkook never did get to show him that video. His tribute to Jimin. That trip wasn't long before Jimin left. He'd been so happy on the trip... why did he have to go? In love or not, Jungkook would have supported him and stayed by his side, doing everything he could to make Jimin's last days happy. Instead, Jimin had chosen to run away and live out his last days in the dark. Except for the glaring possibility that he may not have even been dying in the first place.
