Chapter 36 - Birthday Lies

Sam's POV

It was lunchtime and i was just sitting there with Jess waiting for our other friends. Meg didn't come to school today. I can't wait to go home and find out what happened.

"I feel awful," Jess said.

"Are you sick?" I said without removing my attention from the door. Rachel must be coming in any second.

"Nooo! I feel awful because of what i did to Meg!" She said.

"Don't worry. It's not all your fault!" I said.

"But i shouldn't have done it. I know i shouldn't have done it. My conscience told me not to do it. But i did it. I'm so messed up!"

I petted her back because i didn't know what else to do. "It's not all your fault Jess. Niall shouldn't have kissed you either."

"It's not just about the kiss. I shouldn't have been hanging with him at all!" She said.

"Hey guys!" Rachel said as she approached us.

"Hi!" I said. Then i noticed Ryan and Josh coming too.

"Hey Sam, i was wondering if you could get One Direction to perform at my birthday party?" He said and smiled to Rachel while sliding his hand on her waist. Wow dude, you're not even dating yet.

"This is the only reason why all those things happened!" Jess almost yelled.

"Jess what are you talking about?" I said but it was more like code language for 'shut the fuck up cause you're embarrassing'.

"Ryan's party! I was trying to convince Meg to let them perform when i got mad at her and went at Niall's room trying to gather information to blackmail her!" Jess said.

So that's where it started.

"You girls are so weird!" Josh said.

"So they're coming?" Ryan asked.

"Shut up Ryan!" Rachel said. She knows what happened today in the morning in or house. I'm sorry but i just couldn't keep my mouth shut.

"So how are things with Trent?" Josh managed to change the topic and failed miserably.

"Perfectly fine. I don't care about him and he doesn't care about me," i said.

"Really? Cause there are some rumors going around that he's going to propose to you again at Ryan's party," Josh said.

Lots of things are gonna happen at Ryan's party.

"Well i don't care about him. I actually have another boyfriend," i said.

"Yeah, Sam's into older guys now," Jess said.

"Shut up Jess," i told her. She just chuckled.

"So why didn't Meg come to school today?" Josh asked.

"She was sick," i spoke before anyone else could. There are only three people in this table who know the story and i'd like to keep it that way.

"Is she on her period?" Josh laughed. He's such a guy.

"No Josh. Girl don't miss school when they are on their periods. That is not what happens," i said as seriously as i could.

"So what's up with that sister thing?" Jess asked. Apparently she forgot she's in the middle of a group of friends.

"What sister thing Jess?" I smiled trying to signal her not to say another word.

"C'mon Sam, they are our friends. You need to tell them," Jess said.
