Thor: Ragnarok (Loki X Jamie)

Chapter 42: Ragnarok Begins

Thor, Jamie, and Valkyrie continued to fight off Hela to keep her busy. Thor looked to see that everyone made it onboard and Heimdall was waiting for them

"Go! Go, now!" Thor commanded and he obeyed.

But as they were taking off, Hela sent up a huge spike to keep the ship from leaving as zombie soldiers climbed it to get onboard.

Loki ran into the vault and grabbed Surtur's crown. As he was heading for the Eternal Flame, he saw the Tesseract and it was tempting for him to take it.

Just as the zombie soldiers were heading for the people on the ship, Skurge lit them up with his guns, Des and Troy. He removed his cloak and walked toward the edge of the ship.

"For Asgard," he declared and jumped off.

He shot the spike, breaking it, and more of the zombies. The people watched as he sacrificed himself for them to escape.

"Hela!" he yelled, getting her attention.

He shot more of the zombie soldiers until he ran out of bullets. He took them out by beating them with the guns until Hela sent a blade into his chest, killing him.

Loki put Surtur's crown into the Eternal Flame.

"With the Eternal Flame, you are reborn," he said then whispered, "Please be okay, Jamie."

He got out of there as Surtur was coming back.

Jamie was dragging herself across the bridge as Hela approached her dangerously.

"You were always a pathetic mortal. You were never worthy of being Odin's daughter. I was!" Hela yelled as Jamie got up.

Then Hela sent a blade to her chest. Jamie released a sharp gasp, yanked it out, and watched as Hela went into shock as her wound healed immediately.

"I am practically immortal. I may be from Earth, but I was a better daughter to Odin than you ever were," Jamie snapped.

They fought until she had Jamie pinned and shoved two blades into her shoulders to keep her there, making her scream. Then Hela formed another blade over Jamie's head.

"We'll see how Loki takes your death this time," Hela smirked and raised the blade.

"Hela, enough!" Thor yelled, getting Hela's attention so Valkyrie could free Jamie, and he continued, "You want Asgard, it's yours."

"Whatever game you're playing, it won't work. You can't defeat me," Hela smirked.

"No, I know. But he can," Thor pointed behind him.

The palace was starting to catch fire until it was destroyed by a giant Surtur.

"No," Hela remarked in shock.

Jamie and Valkyrie pierced Hela with their swords and Thor struck the section of the bridge she was on so she'd fall in the water.

"Tremble before me, Asgard! I am your reckoning!" Surtur declared.

He started laying waste to Asgard as he shoved his sword into every building.

"The people are safe. That's all that matters," Valkyrie stated as Jamie nodded, her shoulders healing.

"We're fulfilling the prophecy," Thor said.

"I hate this prophecy," Valkyrie remarked.

"Ditto," Jamie added.

"So do I, but we have no choice. Surtur destroys Asgard, he destroys Hela, so that our people may live. But we need to let him finish the job, otherwise--" Thor explained.

That's when they saw Hulk, leaping toward Surtur so he could stop him.

"No!" Thor said.

"Are you kidding me?" Jamie asked in aggravation.

Hulk then started to beat Surtur.

"Hulk, stop, you moron!" Thor commanded.

Hulk's attacks weren't doing anything as Surtur got him and threw him on the bridge.

"Hulk, stop! Just for once in your life, don't smash," Thor ordered.

"Big monster!" Hulk protested.

"Let's go!" Valkyrie and Jamie told him.

"Fine," Hulk grumbled.

He ran toward them, picked all three of them up, and leapt into the ship.

Meanwhile, Hela came back and started piercing her huge spikes into Surtur's chest, which didn't seem to slow him down.

"I am Asgard's doom!" Surtur yelled as he raised his sword.

He then shoved it into Hela then into the very heart of Asgard.
