I read, and read, and read. And then it all makes sense.

Love is a great thing all on its own. A great power indeed. But for society members, love gets deeper than it ever is with non-keepers. When two members of the society love each other, initiated or not, the unnatural happens. The two people are able to be telepathic with each other. They can read each other's thoughts, and, as time progresses, even without seeing each other.
The two lovers also get an empathetic feeling, sensing what the other is dealing with.
It also creates sparks. The two, having a clear devotion for the other, can go deeper into the other's mind and soul, usually when using the sense of touch.
This power, known as the Soulmate Principle, is quite an enjoyment, as I have experienced it myself. SPing gives you a chance to learn about your partner more than anyone else could. It just adds to the kind of power we already have. It is a wonderful experience, to get in touch with your significant other.
Sometimes, one person does not SP until after a climax, or milestone in their life. But usually, people know from the start when they are soulmates. Of course, late SPers always had a feeling of love, deep within themselves that they did not know about. It is not as if you could hate someone and then abruptly stop. There has to be a connection of love and affection.
This can not only just happen to keepers. It can happen to a keeper and a non-keeper as well. The concept is that the two loved each other anyway, and they were going to have eventually tell them about the Society.
Keepers are also helped in finding who they really love. Like normal people, keepers can fall in love again and again, regardless. But the Soulmate Principle says that, until you find someone you TRULY love, who TRULY loves you back, SPing will not occur.
We do not know where this power comes from. But it is one of the best powers out there, and, eventually, all keepers get to experience it. Unless, of course, they are heartless, crude people that will not let anyone in to their lives, rejecting everyone, and thus living in a state of deep despair.

This was so exciting! I had to tell Des. Although, I didn't know if he was speaking to me. I, mean, I was kind of cold to him. But I know that tomorrow, I will persuade him of what I learned. Which is what he probably knows too. But he just needs to confirm my love for him. Which I will do!
My dad hasn't bothered me. How suspicious. I had heard him and Lilly come in. Hm. I walk down the stairs to see my dad asleep next to the TV, which is playing Dirty Little Secrets. How interesting. My father loves teenage drama entertainment.
