I stared up at Destiny in utter shock. "Is this a joke?"

"It's time I told you Rose. I was about to, but the society wouldn't let me."

"What society?!"

"Then again, should we go to them first? Maybe we should. But Rose" he said finally looking at me, grinning from ear to ear "This is SO EXCITING!"

"YOUR MAKING NO SENSE WHATSOEVER!"

He stood up.

"Then come with me."

"I'm not going anywhere with you unless you give me a reason why!"

"So you won't be so confused."

I screamed. Des looked at me a minute, certain I wouldn't get up, and picked me up, bride-style. My eyes widened.

"Well, Rose, you weren't going anywhere, and we have to get you there as soon as possible. Even though I don't know what THAT stone does."

"You're crazy! Put me down!"

"No can do. It's actually fun carrying you."

Well, it was actually fun to be carried. We walked down the designated path until we reached a bush. I waited. Des looked down at me, GRINNED AGAIN, and parted the bushes to reveal a skimpy, barely-there path. I was astounded. We walked down this path, him limboing under tree branches at his height level and avoiding all the medium sized tree trucks he could trip on. He was coordinated, for a mad man, lemme tell you that. I would've fallen on the first twig. And he was strong. He supported all 118 pounds of me.

I saw a silhouette. At first, I couldn't make out what it was, but then I saw a building. It looked like a huge observatory/lighthouse thingymabob.

But does Des go to this mysterious beautiful building first? No, he went into a small house by the side. Okay, okay nothing was WRONG with the house. It was a comfortable sea blue with green shutters. The door was also painted green. The windowsills were white, and, from what I could tell, they have a chimney, from the cooling tower on top. Des set me down, and we walked on the sand, since we were still near the docks. I had never seen this part of the beach. I didn't even know there WAS some beach here. I guess it was account of the small FOREST. But I looked to the left, and there was a small part of secluded beach there. Gosh, I sure would love to live here. All this time, I had the glowing moonstone necklace in my hands.

Well, now I was just darn curious. And I needed explanations.

We went up to the front door, but before we could knock, someone opened it.

This someone was a man, that looked about fifty-something years old, with crazy gray/brown hair in a t-shirt and some jeans.

"Destiny! What are you doing here at this time of night?" Obviously Des knew him.

"Doctor G, hey. She's one of us. Now."

Doctor G's eyes widened. "Ah, a new one. Haven't had a new one..... well... since Eve, last two years ago. Come in children, come in."

I stepped inside the house. It was so comfy. The couch looked way sat on, but in a good way. There were beautiful paintings on the wall, although very confusing. There were also several chairs, and a few bookcases piled high with books.

"This is a very nice house", I commented.

"Thank you, my dear. Now, I trust you are very confused. Let us step into the library and tell you what this is all about, shall we?"

Finally, I thought. Time to explain this weird wacko-ness.

We stepped into the most enormous library I had  ever seen. There seemed to be thousands of bookshelves, each filled with thousands of books. There were tables set up, with beautiful mahogany chairs, each table equipped with a reading light, and paper and pen to write with. There were comfortable couches with ottomans and coffee tables littered with magazines, old to new. As I passed these bookshelves, I could see they were strictly organized. There was a shelf of dictionaries, some shelves of almanacs, lots of history, and so on and so on. We sat at one of the sofas, which appeared to be a recliner. I confirmed this when Des sat at the end and reclined back.
