Well, it was still a Monday in school.

Blah.

We had dropped Griffin back at his house and were now approaching school. As we rode up towards the school parking lot, I saw Vicky. A lump went up in my throat and I thought sadly to the incident before lunch.

Vicky was still going to be a drama queen.

"Hey.Rose." Carolyn said to me.

I snapped back to attention. "What?"

"I may not be a mind-reader. Although we all know that could've been possible."

I smile.

"But I know what you're going through." She reached her hand into the backseat and patted mine. "Can I come over today though? We need to plan so much!"

"Okay!" I said excitedly. Graduation was just around the corner, and so was the Power Festival.

"We can make a list! Dresses and performances! Best week ever!"

I laughed and so did Des.

As she parked and we got out of the car, I could see Vicky looking over at us.

"What's the best approach to these kinds of situations?" I asked under my breath.

"Well, you didn't really do anything wrong. She's the one being a pain with the jealousy she didn't even have to have. We could have hung out with her. To an extent, of course." Carolyn said.

Des tried to comfort me as well.He laced his fingers through mine and I could feel the strength of his power through him. It helped me raise my own. I locked elbows with Carolyn as we were about to passed Vicky, concentrating on graduation.

"There IS going to be a pre- and post party. Although I wasn't sure if I was going to attend both."

"We have time for both", Des said reassuringly.

"In that case, let's dance until we fall over in our heels Carolyn."

She laughed, and, as we passed her, I could feel Vicky glowering.

As went entered the building, Des checked his watch.

"Well I guess I have to go." He brushed his lips on my cheek before walking off. I wanted more.

"Computer lab for me, Rose. Just have to secure things for the graduation confetti. I programmed some super tiny mini planes to go off and spray it on us! See ya later!"

She ran down the hall way, waving back at me.

The rest of the day was uneventful. A few periods we just studied, the teachers relaxed, since it was the end of the year.

Soon enough, I was at my locker, just packing some things in.

"We need to talk." I heard someone say behind me. It was Vicky.

"Now you want to talk?", I asked "Where was this attitude before?"

"I was just getting my bearings." she replied "And I also want to tell you that you hanging out with your new friends doesn't provoke me."

"Why would it need to? Only overly suspicious people get provoked. I thought you would have welcomed them."

"I wasn't suspicious at all. Well, maybe a little. I felt like I wasn't good enough for you."

I turned around. Softly, I said "Come on Vicky, you know that's ridiculous. We've been best friends for so long. And these are Des's friends."

Suddenly she seemed very angry. "Oh yeah. Why didn't you tell me you were going out with Des? I mean, I AM your best friend right?"
