Flash and I walk into the class with Mrs.Muriel already writing on the board.
"So nice of you to finally join us, Mr. Thompson." sarcasm evident in her voice. Her eyes then fall on me, and it makes me wonder for a split second if I should play dead. You know, survival instincts.
"And you are...?" her eyes boring into mine through her fat glasses.
"Kira."
Whoa. That wasn't me. I look at Flash as he says my name.
"Well I am pretty sure Kira herself can talk, Mr.Thompson." I hear a few sneers in the class, but they all die in a second as Flsh glares at them.
"Why may I ask are you two this late?"
Well, first I had to find my locker, and my English book and Flash had to go the washroom, and finally then we walked slowly up the stairs to this very classroom.
I can't definitely tell her that.
"I am new." I say, pathetically.
"That I know." Mrs. Muriel says, sarcasm her best friend stuck to her like glue.
"She got lost Ma'am." Flash said, interrupting the 'stare into the soul' look she was giving me.
"Okay, Go sit in your place. But if this happens again, don't bother entering my class."
I turn to find an empty in the front of the class, right in front of Jo. I smile at her and start walking towards it. Mrs. Muriel turns her attention back to the board, continuing writing. I am about to sit on the chair, when Flash grips my upper arm, pulling me behind him to the very back of the room. I give a confused look to Jo, as I pass her. Flash releases me and plops himself on the chair. I raise my eyebrow at him as he looks up at me. He then eyes the seat next to him, asking me to sit. My mind starts having a serious debate on whether I should take the chair next to him or walk back to the front.
"Miss. Kruz? Will you kindly sit down." Mrs. Muriel's voice travels up to me, making me cringe. I turn around to see her giving me a cold stare. I smile at her awkwardly and take the chair next to Flash in lightening speed. Well, to say I sat on the chair would be wrong, because technically I tripped over my own leg and fell on to it. My bottom hurt at the sudden impact, and my feet hung in mid-air for half a minute. I quickly drop my legs and sit up straight. I hear a chuckle on my left and my head snaps in Flash direction.
"Why did you do that?" I ask him.
"Do what?" He props his elbow on the table, and gives me an innocent look.
"Drag me here. I was going to sit there with Jo."
"What you don't want to sit with me?" his fake hurt expression making me wanna punch him.
Boys will be boys. Irritating. I give him my most famous stern look.
"Just like that." he shrugs. He turns his attention back to the front of the class and I do to. As I turn to face the front I notice something fishy. A group of four girls in the front of the class, had their heads turned in my direction, giving me an icy look. Tired from pissing people off without meaning to, I ignore them. Mrs. Muriel spoke about the same old Romeo and Juliet. Personally, I don't believe in Romeo and Juliet. Yea, it's a great story, and that's what it is. I haven't seen a single couple be so in love. Actually, I don't believe in love. It's a bubble of dreams, which once burst, their is nothing more that heartbreak left. My head rests on my hand propped on the table, looking at Mrs. Muriel as she describes that eternal love story. I feel someone staring at me, and from the corner of my eye I see Flash head looking in my direction.
