"Stay with me?"

Chapter 23

(Katniss' pov)

"GALE! GALE TOOK OUR BABIES!?" I scream, I can't believe he would do something like this to me, "Peeta I'll go look for Gale and the twins while you help clean up Johanna! If I'm not back here in an hour...come looking for me!" I scream at him whilst heading to the door, I run downstairs, chuck my boots and jacket on and run outside, where could he be? I walk round the town asking people if they've seen him, someone said they spotted him near my old house. He knew..he knew I wouldn't go anywhere near that house that's why he's hiding there! Well he was wrong! I would do anything to get my babies back and if that meant to face my worst nightmare then so be it! I run past the old rundown houses till I reach my old house. "Come on Katniss, you have to do this for Willow and Finn!" I tell myself. I walk up the stairs and stop when I'm faced with the door, I fling the door open and run inside "GALE! GALE I KNOW YOU'RE IN HERE!" I scream knowing he would hear me. I hear footsteps behind me...then everything goes black...

(Peeta's pov)

Katniss has been gone for over an hour, I've cleaned up Johanna's face and managed to calm her down, "Johanna I'm going to go and look for Gale, will you be okay here or do you want me to get Haymitch?" I ask her softly, "No...I'm coming with you!" She tells me jumping up from the sofa, "Johanna, you've just been beaten up! You can't face him again!" I yell at her, "Peeta! I've been through worst things, I think I can handle Gale!?" She tells me, "Didn't you just get beaten by him though?" I tell her sarcastically, "yeah...well...I wasn't prepared!" She says defensively.

I agree to let Johanna come with me as I might be needing the backup, we run though the town and ask people if they've seen Katniss, someone said they saw her head into her old house. Katniss went into her old house? She wouldn't?...Would she? We run to the house and fling the door open, we find Gale sitting on the sofa like nothing's happened, I look down and that's when I see my worst nightmare...Katniss laying in a pool of blood around her head. I look at Johanna and give her a quick nod to let her know we need to take action, before I realise what she's doing she's already up the stairs trying to look for Willow and Finn. I look at Gale who's laughing, this switches something in my head and before I realise what I'm doing I've already knocked Gale out cold, there he is laying in the floor unconscious! "PEETA I'VE FOUND THEM" Johanna screams, "You bring them down and take them back home, I'll take Katniss to the hospital" I yell back at her.

It didn't take long for the hovercraft to get here, Katniss needed emergency medical attention, "Doc is she going to be okay?" I ask him whilst holding Katniss' hand, she's so cold. "It's not looking good at the moment, Katniss is I'm a coma" he replys. "A c...coma?" I try to say, she can't be in a come? She'll be okay right? She a fighter, she can pull through. Won't she?....
