"Stay with me?"

Chapter 25

I run straight into the hospital and try to find Katniss' room, I think it was room 280? I run straight to her room, I need to be with her right now, I can't leave her on her own anymore, I can't trust anyone near her without me there, I can't even trust the doctors around her anymore! I reach the door 280 and push it open, I stop in the doorway, my heart stops and I freeze...

Katniss is gone... She's not in her bed, this room is completely empty, it looks as if she was never put in this room. I can't think of what's happened to her. I run out the room and head to the reception, "Where is Katniss Everdeen?" I demand, "Mr Mellark?" She asks, I nod, "Miss Everdeen was taken to another ward, you need to get there right away!" She tells me, she looks at a security guard behind me and nods at him, "Mr Mellark if you'd like to follow me, I will direct you to where your friend is" he tells me, "No, not friend she's my fiancée soon to be wife" I tell him with a slight smile. It takes a while to get to the other ward, but once we reached it the security guard directed me to her private room. "Miss Everdeens room" he tells me before walking off.

I push the door open and that's when I see her sitting up in her bed. She's awake! I stare at her with tears in my eyes, she looks up to see who walked through the door, she tries to get up but the nurse pushes her back down. I run over to her, climb onto her bed and wrap her in my arms, "I'm never letting go of you" I whisper into her ear, "I don't want you to ever let go of me" she replies, I look at the nurse and smile. She gets my hint and leaves the room. I press my lips to hers, she kisses me back with passion, we finally break away from each other, "Peeta, how long was I g..gone?" She asks me whilst wiping her tears away, "Almost three months!" I tell her, "Wow..three months! Did you cope on your own?" She asks whilst laying her head on my chest, "I couldn't cope, with you gone I wouldn't have been able to look after the twins on my own, your mother has stayed with me this whole time. She's looked after me, she's looked after the twins when I've been here with you. These have been the worst three months of my life, every night i went to sleep not knowing if you'll make it through the night, i didn't sleep because i was always worrying that the children will grow up without a mother, Katniss never leave me again! Promise?" I tell her, "I promise" she says pressing her lips to mine, we get interrupted when the doctor walks in, "sorry to interrupt, but we found out the cause of why you where in a coma for so long, if I'm right you got hit on the head? Well after that someone injected a poison into your body, it makes you sleep forever, however the person that injected you with this poison did not insert it right which is why we could reverse the effects and wake you up" he explains to us, "When you're better you will be interviewed and asked weather you want to take action against the person that did this too you" the nurse explains. They run some tests on Katniss too make sure she's fine to come home, "You look fit and healthy, you can now be discharged from the hospital Miss Everdeen" the nurse tells us, "Actually is Mrs Mellark, well not yet but I will be soon" she tells the nurse with a smile, she looks at me and gives me a playful wink, I've finally got my girl on fire back, I didn't loose her and I am so thankful for that...
