"Stay with me?"

Chapter 41

(Katniss' pov)

it's been 6 months since the twins birthday. Willow took her first steps a couple of days after their party and recently said her first word which was 'mumma', Peeta was slightly disappointed as everyone said she was a daddy's girl but he was also happy because it was her first word. Finn has only just started to walk, he often falls over but then he just gets back up and carries on.

Peeta and I are sitting on the couch while willow and Finn are at our feet colouring in their little sketch pads Peeta brought them last week. "Peeta. Should we be worried that Finn hasn't shown any sign of talking yet?" I ask him slightly worried. Peeta stops sketching and looks up at me. "I don't think we should. He only turned one six months ago. Most babies don't show any signs of talking till they turn two" Peeta replies reassuring me. This makes me feel a little bit better.

Peeta took the whole day off so we decided to spend it all together. "Who wants to bake?!" Peeta ask the twins hoping he'll get a response. "I want bake" Willow replies giving us a toothy grin. I pick her up off the floor and put her on my lap. I can see Peeta is anxious for Finn to answer. "Finn do you want to bake with daddy?" He asks. He just looks up at Peeta and doesn't reply. "Peeta he's not going to answer" I tell him feeling quiet disappointed. Peeta gives up and pickes Finn up off the floor and carries him to the kitchen, I do the same with willow. We place them in their high chairs so they can watch Peeta bake. I take a seat across from him. He gives them both a piece of dough to play with and make shapes. "Bake with dadda fun" willow coos flicking a piece of dough at Peeta. This makes us all laugh including Finn. "Why laughing" willow says getting grumpy. "Because you're funny baby girl" I tell her wiping a piece of flour off her nose. "I'm funny" she replies with a little giggle and continues to play with the dough. "What where you drawing earlier?" I ask Peeta. "Um I was drawing you and the twins" he replies looking down at the dough in front of him. We get interrupted when we hear a little giggle coming from Finn then something we didn't expect, "Dada?"
