Lily spun round to face me. Her face smug. Behind her stood Liam, he was bright red and took a step backwards.
"Aria...I, it's not what it seems. Lily was just Erm...really upset with me, we are really close friends and you know that. I wanted to make things right..." Liam stuttered as I shook my head at him in disbelief.
"Yeah and then ended up with your lips attached to her. I came in here to find Izzy but instead came across the school's slut and her latest hookup. Oh, sorry. Izzy's fucked up boyfriend."
Liam and Lily went silent after that. Lily tried to look down on me but I shoved her backwards and she lost her balance. I ran out of the room and into the cramped corridor.
There was no way I am going to do double netball now, having to be around Madison and lie to her face. It's not going to happen. As I stumbled down the corridor, I bumped into Madison walking to the locker room. Great, the person I'm trying to avoid. "You don't want to go in there hun. Please, it's really important." I say, my voice shaking.
Madison looked at me confused then forced her way into the locker room. "WHAT THE FUCK LIAM?!"I heard her shouting but I was too scared to go and support her...I can't take anymore couple drama right now. I ran to the nearest exit, shoved open the door and ran out into the yard.
I ran to the back of the field and into the forest, it was the only safe place I knew that was out of sight. "Aria is that you?" I spun around to see Evan...in my favourite and safest area. Well great minds think alike I guess.
"Oh, hey Evan. Are you a typical boy who's gonna cheat on me?" Evan glared at me and I took a step back. "I'm so sorry. Evan. I just caught Liam kissing Lily and my head's all over the place!" I burst out crying for the second time today, I just can't handle school anymore.
Evan engulfed me in a hug and tried to reassure me everything was ok. "Ari, it's all right. Liam isn't the cheating kind so I'm sure him and Madison will work things out! Hey we can do our date now, that might cheer you up." He stopped to think for a second then carried on, "Wait shouldn't you be in PE?"
"I can't handle it, obviously. And anyway you can't talk. You should be too!"
"Fair point, come sit down."
He grabbed my hands and pulled me to the bench at the back of the woods. He slowly lent in and kissed me again, this time it was only gently. It still made a difference.
"I love you Aria Carpenter." It took me by surprise at first, but then I realised "I love you too." I lent on his shoulder and we just sat there enjoying each others company.
Later on I rejoined with the girls but stayed quiet. So did Madison, I'm just presuming Izzy and Kitty know what's happened. Back in the music room, Eva went in and sat beneath the microphone stand. Behind her stood Nate, he didn't say anything and just waited for her to notice him. (you may be wondering how I know this, well you see I was there. Sitting behind the piano).
Nate wasn't silent enough and walked into the drum kit. Eva spun around in surprise and stared at him. "Oh hey, Aria told me Kitty was in here."
"Oh she told me Evan was here." He said, confused. I realised my plan was working.
"She told me she wanted us to talk earlier...I ugh."
"Eva I really like you..."
Eva froze and didn't say anything except, "I really like...Pizza. Sorry that came out all wrong." Smooth hun!
Eva started going bright red and Nate burst out laughing. "I meant I really like you too." Nate stopped her there as he lent in too kiss her, awe it was so romantic. "AWE EVA HAD HER FIRST KISS!" Oops...I blew my cover. Eva spun around and started smirking at me. "ARIA?! I knew you had something to do with this!"
"Yeah and that's a good thing because now you're dating. Awe NEVA...hehe"
"Seriously?"
"Oh Eva pleaseeeee sing your song to Nate....it's about you."
Nate looked so smitten it was sweet. Eva looked slightly embarrassed but did it anyway. She took a deep breath and started singing the words. Self-consciously at first, but then she got into it and it was beautiful. I love hearing her sing and so did Nate. When she finished, Nate kissed her again and asked me to give them some alone time.
I left them too it and went to find Kitty and Madison. Well at least Dad's home tonight...
