The bell rang to signal the start of the day and I couldn't wait. I'd resolved to talk to Mads at break, the girls insisted. I'm not exactly mad at her, more at Liam for manipulating her.
I walked into form and took my seat next to Evan, "Happy birthday Aria!" He planted a kiss on my cheek, all of his friends were laughing at him but I thought it was sweet. "Thank you."I whispered in his ear.
"Alright you lot, shut up! Today we have wider curriculum on consent..." Mr Adams started saying before Eva interrupted.
"I don't remember giving consent for him to drone on about consent." Eva moaned, and we all burst out laughing.
"Right I said be quiet! Eva, Aria, Kitty, Madison outside now." Mr Adams demanded. We walked out of the door pretty embarrassed, but didn't bother hanging around to hear what sir had to say. We ran to the woods and hid there, it is my birthday after all. Not long after, Evan, Nate and Liam joined us...I'm presuming they got kicked out too.
I just glared at Liam then turned to the others. "Happy birthday Aria!" The boys said in unison, it was slightly creepy in all honesty but sweet, "Thanks guys..." I looked in the corner of my eye and could see Madison and Liam rushing behind a tree and started 'eating each other' as we like to call it...Basically it's making out.
"Ewww, can we go somewhere else please. Mads is infested with atoms." Kitty moaned, I laughed (atoms are boys btw). We all agreed and headed off to the changing room. "This is so different from my previous birthdays.." I said, taking a seat on the bench in the farthest corner. "Probably because you haven't been 14 before and weren't skiving your lesson!" Evan burst out saying and started to laugh.
"Well yeah, but it's the first time my birthdays been acknowledged," hence why I forgot this morning, "I uh, my old friend Millie has the same birthday as me so we only celebrated hers. You get used to it after a while..."
I haven't told Evan about Millie and Hannah, I presumed the girls did. "Awe A, I'm sorry. I get why you weren't excited this morning.." Eva trailed off then and started to fidget uncomfortably.
I turned around to see Liam standing in the doorway, standing timidly behind Mads. "Look, please can we just make up? I know what you think and I'm grateful that you're watching out for me but I can look after myself." Madison said.
I shook my head and looked at the floor. "Fine, sorry." I mumbled. Madison just laughed and pulled me into a hug, I struggled against her at first but then eventually gave in. It felt nice to have my best friend back again. Even if I do not support her choice in boyfriends.
As the lunch bell went, we decided to play dares. Kitty was at gym practice, and she would be glad she's not playing this though. Me, Izzy, Evan, Madison, Liam, Eva and Nate all sat around the table and the first dare all the girls had to do. It was to kiss our boyfriends on the lips and then pull. Luckily, Izzy got to sit this one out...
It's easy for Mads because it's all her and Liam do, but for me and Eva it was harder as we felt extremely self conscious. "Trust me Ari." Evan said softly and I did, I leant in and pulled him. Butterflies. Eva looked away but planted a kiss on Nate's lips. He grabbed her waist and pulled her on top of him, awe it was so cute.
The bell went for the end of the day, my Mum and Evelyn are away for the weekend so I have the house to myself . We decided we'd all stay over at mine...even Kitty and the boys. It got interesting...
