"Mum, I, Ugh..." I started trying to explain but the look in Mum's face clarified she's not going to believe a word I'm about to say. And why would she? I'm that good girl who would never leave school...and from the outside looking in, my friends will seem like a bad influence too.
"Well I'm taking Evelyn to the hospital in a moment so go home...take your friends if you must but go home so I know you're safe please!" Mum interrupted me and it took me a second to register what she just said.
"Ok..." Did Mum actually not make me go back to school? Why would she tell me to go home, that's pointless. I looked over at everyone and we trailed off to my house. I felt pretty embarrassed, Mum never usually tells me off in public. She usually is more kind and tells me off in private. As she knew how humiliating it is...even if you are in trouble.
"Sorry guys, I don't know why my mum acted like that..." I begin, but Madison interrupts.
"It's fine girl." Madison put her arm around me as I we crossed the field. As we walked out of the park, a girl I haven't seen in a while but knew for years -Kenzie- traipsed past looking awestruck at everything around her.
We went to the same primary and high school but she moved half way through year 7. I giggled slightly and ran up to her, hoping she still remembered me.
"Hey Kenz!" She spun around a bit shocked but then a smile instantly grew on her face.
"OMG ARIA! It's been forever!"
She ran up to me and we hugged for the first time in about 2 years. It felt so nice to see a familiar face. "What are you doing here? I mean it's amazing to see you!" A smile spread across my face as we pulled apart.
"Aha, you're Mum didn't tell you? I'm living with you for a bit and moving to Fallwood High School."
"What why?" I look at her confused as she starts to go red.
"I'll tell you later...." Kenz whispers. She glanced over at the others who were just standing there waiting to come home with me.
"Oh this is Madison, Izzy, Eva and Kitty. And this is my boyfriend Evan and Kitty's boyfriend Jake. Guys this is my life long best friend Kenzie. We haven't seen each other in years."
Kenzie looked excitedly at everyone and they all laughed. I linked arms with Kenz and held hands with Evan.
Izzy walked with Eva, Kitty held hands with Jake down the street and Mads claimed she had a date with Liam (surprise surprise). When we got back to my house, I went straight up to my room to change out of my uniform and dump my bag. I gave the girls some clothes but the boys ran home to change.
When they returned Cal and Nate were with them. "So Kenzie, what brings you here...Oh hang on tell me later. These girls are so nice I'm sure we can squeeze one more in our friendship group, right?" I ask, grins instantly fill the room and I can feel the tension ease slightly.
All the girls nodded enthusiastically but the boys just rolled their eyes and glanced at each other. Not long after, I heard a knock at the door so went to see who it was.
"Hi Aria, could we talk?"
"Erm, sure come in..."
