Craig's POV
I was near my locker gazing at Tolkien and Clyde from a distance. I couldn't help myself but feel guilty until...
"You okay there? You've been staring at them for a while. Do you need some time with your gay thoughts or...?" Kyle teased.
I laughed and said," No, it's just that I ignored them for a whole week due to the break up. I couldn't help but think how I was a douche to them."
"Well if you feel that way, go apologize you douche." Kyle said.
"What?" I asked.
"A-Po-Lo..." Kyle said slowly until I interrupted
"I got that. Thank you." I said.
"So..." Kyle said.
There was a sudden silence which included us staring at each other's blank faces. Then Kyle crossed his arms.
"....You mean now?" I asked.
"No, in the next century. Of course now." Kyle said.
"Can't I just apologize later?' I asked.
"The sooner the better." Kyle said.
I stayed silent for a moment.
"What? Is Craig Tucker too afraid of apologizing?" Kyle asked.
That kind of pissed me off.
"No, I'm not afraid. Heck I'm going to apologize right now!" I said.
Then I walked away from Kyle heading straight for Tolkien and Clyde
"Go get em Tucker!" Kyle said in the distance.
As I was half way, I realised what I was doing abd that Kyle tricked me into doing this.
"Smartass." I mumbled.
I approached Tolkien and Clyde and said,
"Hey guys."Both turned their heads and looked at me with surprised faces.
"Hey dude." Clyde said.
Well, here goes nothing.
"Look I wanna apologize for how I acted for the past week. I'm sorry I kinda acted like a douche." I said.
"Woah dude. There's really no hard feelings." Tolkien said.
I wasn't not expecting that.
"Yeah. Truth is we should have done something since we're your friend's but we both were afraid of messing it up or making things worse.Besides you aren't the type that expresses feelings especially to us and we thought you needed some space for you to work things out."" Clyde said.
"So we were all douches then." I said.
We all laughed.
"This is really new for us Craig. You almost never apologized to us. We never knew how sensitive you are." Tolkien said.
"Yeah. Must be an effect from your pal Brofvloski over there." Clyde said grinning.
I couldn't stop blushing as I punched him in the arm.
"Yup. He's got it for Broflovski." Clyde said.
"No! Never!" I said.
"Double negative! That's a yes!" Clyde yelled.
As I blushed more, Tolkien laughed and said,
"I'm glad you guys are friends. He's going through rough times."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
Tolkien explained,
"Well, first Wendy took his seat on the bus which is next to Stan, then Wendy changed lockers with Kyle to get close to Stan, then his friends have been hanging out with other kids leaving him alone and then..."
"Is what happened in class today." I said.
"Yeah. It's good that someone has his back." Tolkien said.
Clyde teased, "More like his..."
"Clyde." Tolkien said in a mature voice.
My face became redder while Clyde laughed.
Then Clyde decided to change the subject.
"I can tell that Tolkien is going to be a great dad someday." Clyde said.
"What?" Tolkien said.
I laughed and said, "Well obviously since he's always been the Dad of the group."
Clyde laughed whilst Tolkien objected,
"No, I'm not!"
Then the bell rang.
"I gotta get going. See ya guys at cafeteria." I said.
"See ya." Clyde said.
I walked off heading straight back to my locker where Kyle was waiting.
"So how did it go?" Kyle asked.
"Better than I expected." I said.
"See, that wasn't hard now was it?" Kyle teased.
"Come on before we get in trouble for being late for class." I said.
"Who's the stickler for rules now?" He said.
We both laughed as we began heading our way to class.
I couldn't help but notice how a person who was so lonely and rejected by his friends was still putting through and still on the bright side of things.
Same as Tolkien, I'm actually glad I got his back no matter what happens.
