Chapter 20
Yannie's POV
- DAY 1 -
Tuesday morning and Hanbin started his courting project. After spending a day on my Kuya Loki's condominium, we moved to our house in Ilocos Sur.
To describe our house, it is quiet old. The house is built way back 1878 by my ancestors. It is called Hacienda de Ysidra. It was named after my late grand grandmother. It has 8 rooms in total.
I went to my cabinet to get some towels for Hanbin. I also brought some cold bottled waters for him. He was busy chopping down the woods on the backyard. My Dad and my brothers are just watching him while Somi is taking pictures of him. Jiwon? He's cheering Hanbin up by teasing him.
I placed the towels and bottled waters on the table. "Somi-ah, what time is it?" I asked.
"It's already 10:30 am," She answered. I'll be cooking lunch after Hanbin finish his task.
One more chunk of wood and he's done. Sweats are trailing down his face and neck. His face and body were all as red as tomato because of the weather. Yes, it soooo hot in the Philippines.
"Congrats bro!" Kuya Loki cheered. I smiled sweetly at Hanbin do the thumbs up.
"Well done," Kuya Liam tapped his shoulder. Dad and Kuya Louie did the same.
I motioned him to come at me and he did. I wiped his sweats out give him a cold bottle of water.
"Thank you," He smiled. I wiped his forehead and smile, "You're welcome."
We walked inside the house. I commanded Hanbin to rest on my room but he insisted. He said he wanted to join me on cooking. I just shrugged as an answer.
The boys and Somi are on the living room watching some movies while me and Hanbin are in the kitchen. Again, he volunteered to help cut the ingredients. I knew I can't stop him from doing things so I just let him be.
"Aren't you tired?" I asked worriedly as I close the pot.
"Not even a little," He boasted. I jokingly punch his arm.
"You worked hard today," I hugged him.
"Ya! Don't hug me. I stink," He tried to remove my arms on his waist but he cannot so he just let me.
"You still smell good for me," I said and sniffed. We chuckled together at my childishness.
Hanbin started distributing the plates while I was busy putting the viands on the bowl.
I called everyone and we started eating. No one dared to speak. They're busy eating and I wanted laugh at them. I am really a good cook!
I asked Hanbin to rest for an hour more before he took his bath. I opened my phone and posted a pic on Instagram. It was a photo of Hanbin laughing while chopping woods.
- DAY 2 -
Wednesday at the same time, he started working again. This time, he's going to catch a pail of water on the well and put it in a big blue drum.
I took a picture of him and posted on the Instagram.
"Go Kim Hanbin!" I shouted. He smiled and continued.
The photo I posted yesterday gained a lot of likes and comments. Most of the comment says they wanted to experience it too. Some asked if this is real. I smiled because, yes, on our generation, it is still possible to be courted traditionally.
I prepared my kit for Hanbin-towels and cold bottled waters. Looking at him, it seems like he's enjoying what he is doing. I smiled because I was so lucky to have him. It's only his 2nd day but I can say that he's really determined to have me.
He finally finished his task. He goes to my place and I wiped his sweats again. I tied his hair upward to dry his forehead. And waaaahhh!!!! He looks damn cuuuteeeee!!! I pinched his cheek and chuckled.
I even took a photo of him and posted it on my Instagram again.
I cooked a Korean dish today and I'm glad that my Dad and my brothers liked it. They even praised my cooking skills.
After eating we rested for more minutes and took a bath. Somi suggested to do movie marathon and we all agreed. Hanbin and I prepared snacks while they're are picking the list of movies we are going to watch.
We started the marathon with a horror one. And it seems like Hanbin is not used to it because he screams a lot.
- DAY 3 -
His third day went smoothly. My Dad just asked him to clean the whole backyard. It was quite wide but there are less fallen leaves because the helpers already cleaned it yesterday.
He finished it immediately. As I was saying it wasn't really hard. My Dad and my brothers cheered for him.
"This will be your last day, Hijo," (Spanish term for boys) My eyes suddenly widened. Same as Hanbin and the couples.
"Why is that?" I asked, not removing the smile from my face.
"He already proved himself to us," Kuya Loki said. A tear fell from my eye. Why not, right? He worked hard and I am so proud of him!
"Thank you," We did a group hug.
"Thank you for your cooperation, Hanbin. You went through a lot," Dad said.
"Yeah. You've worked really hard," Kuya Louie give Hanbin a bro hug.
"Kamsahamnida," (Thank you) Hanbin bowed. I and the couples did the same.
"Let's eat?" Kuya Liam ruined the moment. "I'm hungry," He added.
We laughed together and headed inside. I cooked lunch again. We ate happily while reminiscing Hanbin's first day on courting me. It feels wonderful. I felt so loved and respected.
I'm glad to have a family like this. Also my Dad and brothers. They didn't pressured Hanbin, they even shortened the day of his courting.
I smiled as I looked at them one by one. I throw my last gaze to Hanbin who is looking at me with a big smile.
Oh, I love this man so much.
