~*****~
Seven years. Seven years, I've been running around Fiore looking for my mother. I decided to go to Hargeon on a rumor I'd heard in the last town I was in. Apparently, someone by the name of Salamander there, and he was rumored to be a dragon. I yawned tiredly as I entered the city. Distant screaming from the middle of the town caught my attention. Although, what the cause, was strange enough, just some dude with--
My heart went wild as I gazed at the man in the middle of the large crowd of women vying for his attention. His hair was so silky and dark, and his eyes- oh my goodness- they were so kindhearted. "Salamander!" The women around me chanted excitedly. My body thrummed in anticipation as his name sent shivers down my spine. I loved it. Salamander. It sounded so romantic~
"Igneel!" I hear a voice, and it was as if someone dumped cold water over my head. I shook my head quickly and rubbed my eyes.
"What the hell?" I wonder aloud. A boy had shoved a blonde girl besides me to the side and brushed past me. The smell of a campfire wafted up to my nose, and it felt comforting. That's then I noticed the ring on Salamander's finger. "Seriously?" I sigh heavily.
"Get out of my way, fire hair, I want to see him!" The blonde girl bellows.
"I wouldn't count your chickens yet," I mention. "He's wearing a love charm."
She immediately snaps out of it, and blinks rapidly. "Oh, thanks..." She sighed and rubbed her eyes slowly.
"Don't thank me. It was what's his face over there," I jut my thumb over to the boy agitating Salamander.
At the snap of Salamander's fingers, the girls around us threw a riot and chased after the pink haired boy. Salamander had taken his chance to leave. "What did he do?" The blonde girl asks curiously.
"No clue." I hum and trail away from her.
"Hey! I'm Lucy!" She exclaimed as she caught up to me. "Wanna go find that guy? We should thank him, don't you think?"
I gazed at her for a long moment. "Yeah, I guess." I respond slowly with a shrug of my shoulders. "I'm Aria. Nice to meet you." I better be polite. If she's thanking him too, she might be offering food I can probably bum off. It's been a good couple of days since I've eaten.
The pink haired boy is sitting on the ground in a dark alleyway, trashcan overturned on his head. He's got a small blue cat with him, hovering close by on a set of narrow, white wings. It's laughing at him.
As we approached the two, they didn't take notice until we were gazing down at them. "I said I was sorry! That Salamander guy's the best!" He shouted, his tone conveying both fright and annoyance.
"We're not gonna murder you," I hum coolly. "He was using a charm, and your screaming made me realize that." I mention as I kneel down slightly. I extend my hand towards him. "Thank you, by the way."
