Chapter 13 - Priorities

[A/n: let's get to know each other... where are you guys from?!]

'I know I am being childish that she is not giving me that much time. Her being an idol as well as the reason she is also busy and our schedules clashes making it difficult for us to spend time with each other but still she could at least stop making me feel nothing in her life', he thought and closed his eyes.

In this case, he can't help but think about you, how you used to treat him and how you both used to be despite the long distance relationship.

Flashback

BTS came back from practice and Jungkook was bored since everyone was exhausted so he didn't ask anyone to play with him. Then he saw his phone on the side table and immediately got up to call you.

He decided to video call you since he didn't get to see you in the whole day. You immediately picked up his call as if you were waiting for him to call.

[on video call]

You were sitting in you cute mickey mouse night suit with your glasses resting on the bridge of your nose and hair tied in messy. You instantly smiled as you picked up the call giving him more energy as well.

E(Eva): hey!!! *brightly smiling*

He noticed the pencil in your hand and then all the books scattered here and there around you on the bed.

J(Jungkook): Hi baby girl... What's all this mess?!

You looked around a bit before sighing and getting a grip of what he was asking about.

E: Nothing... My mid-term exam is approaching... Just that...

J: ah... I will call you later then... *disappointed*

E: Tell me what it is?! I know you are bored or bothered by something and don't have anyone to talk... so tell me.

You asked keeping your pencil down and removing your glasses, he somehow felt guilty for distract you.

J: No... You should study... I should not disturb you... From next time if you are busy... Don't pick up the call and distract yourself like this... Okay?!

You still had your book in your hand which you furiously closed and looked straight at the screen.

E: Yah!!! Just get one thing straight in your mind... You are not a distraction for me... And like always I am going to pick your call in one ring only... Even if I am super-duper busy... You will still be my priority and if in future I fail to pick your call then don't worry... you won't have to call me again cause I will the one to first call back immediately... Okay?!

Seeing the seriousness in your tone made him want to smile and tear up at the same time but all that came was a small smile on his face. 'How could manage to flutter my heart with just a few sentences.' he thought.

J: Am I that important to you?

E: More than myself... Pabo *grinning*

You smiled sincerely at him, making his heart melt in that smile and get lost in those eyes which only look at him.

J: shut up!!! And stop being cheesy... Question paper won't ask anything about me... so study and prepare for your exam... I will call you later... just study, sleep and eat well okay?!

You laughed making him smile as well, wearing your glasses back, you salute at him before saying.

E: Yes boss!!!

J: bye baby girl!... I love you...

E: bye kookie... I love you too...

[end of video call]

With that, he hangs up feeling completely refreshed and smiled to himself like an idiot picturing your smiling figure in his mind.

[End of flashback]

He stared blankly at the ceiling while his heart was filled with mixed emotions that he couldn't even describe himself. Everything was right around him, yet it felt so wrong. Why? Was the only question lingering in his mind ever since the day you left?

"they both have opposite personalities, I was the one who gave priority to IU over Eva thinking she will make happier and yet I am here all gloomy thinking how I used to be with Eva how funny...but I sincerely miss you, Eva... I wish I could call you... Will, you still pick my call in the single ring?... Can't we still be friends?!", Jungkook was talking to himself.

He picked up his phone again and stared at your contact for a few moments debating with himself whether to call or not but at last, he ended up calling you.

'the number you are trying to reach does not exist...'

"she really disappeared... ", without knowing a tear rolled down from the corner of his eye falling directly on the pillow.

Little did hr know Tae was there listening to his monologue and scoffed to gain his attention before entering the room at which Jungkook sat up straight.

Ever since you left everyone had been cold towards Jungkook espeacially Tae. They were nothing but teammates and outside BigHit building no one bothered to initiate a conversation with Jungkook.

"how long are you going to act cold towards me?!. What can I do re-establish our bond?!", Jungkook tried to take the first step after seeing Tae was ignoring him again while taking out his clothes from the closet.

"can you bring my best friend back?!", Tae replied boringly without even bothering to turn around and look at Jungkook to which he only lowered his head knowing that it is something that he couldn't do.

Tae turned around on getting no response, only see a frown on Jungkook's face. He scoffed in a victory since he knew it was something Jungkook can't reply to and turned back to the closet to get his work done when suddenly his phone rang.

Tae: "what do you mean you can't trace her... I don't care what you need to do to track her down... Do whatever it takes and find her... i don't pay you to hear this failed attempt of yours... I -"

The moment he realised Jungkook was in the same room as well, he immediately went out not wanting him to know more about his plans. Not only him but everyone was trying at their level to find you except Jungkook.

A part of him wanted to find you but others stood against telling him not to because its best was for both of you to stay away from each other. He was with IU and he should not be concerned about you anymore.

Even though others were trying their best but they got no result. You just Evanesced like you never existed in the first place. Till the end, you kept her words but Jungkook never tried to give anything you deserve so it was best for you to stay away from him.
