HELLO MY LOVERLIES! It's late and I'm late updating, so I apologize. I haven't been feeling the best and I've been busy, but that doesn't excuse the fact that I said I would update and then didn't, so I'm really sorry.

Anyways, I just want to wish a happy (belated) Indepence Day/4th of July to any of my American fans/readers. If you're confused about why I'm doing this even though I already said I'm Canadian, I was actually born in the States. I moved here when I was little and got my Canadian citizenship when I was about 8, I believe. I dunno, actually, but I think it was the year that Star Wars Episode Two: Attack of the Clones came out because I think that we went to see that movie on our way home from getting our citizenships. Don't quote me on that though.

OH RIGHT, the real reason I'm still here is to let you know that I'm still in that Face Off on LouisTomlinsonsButt's page and the next bracket will be up soon (that's right, I made it through round 1!), so I will probably be asking you guys to go vote in that as soon as the poll is up again. ALSO, I wanted to remind you that I've entered this in the Watty Awards for 2012, so it would be lovely for you guys to vote and such. Which is just my way of beggin you to please vote/fan(?)/comment because I love getting feedback from you all.

Lastly, this chapter goes out to Sodalith for her amazing comment on the last chapter that literally made my day for multiple days in a row because of the amount of awesome it contained. (Also because I would feel bad if she actually got in trouble for staying up half the night to read my story) :D

*Liam's POV*
(August 29, 2009)

“Liam, phone!” my mother calls up the stairs to me.

Who the hell is calling me? I walk down the stairs and take the cordless phone from my mother's hand before I go back up to my room. “Hello?” I speak into the phone as soon as I'm behind closed doors.

“Happy birthday, Li,” a thick Irish accent says.

What? “Might I ask who this is?”

“Oh, I don't know. Who do you think it is?”

“I don't know. Who are you and why are you calling me?” I question my mystery caller.

“I'll give you a hint: I'm Irish.”

“Yeah, I gathered as much from the accent, so that clears up nothing,” I tell him. I can at least tell the voice is too low and husky to belong to a girl.

“How many Irishmen do you know that would be comfortable calling you Li, I wonder...”

No, it couldn't be... “Nialler?”

There's laughter on the boy's end of the line for a few moments before it calms down. “Took you long enough!”

“Well, I haven't exactly heard your voice in the past seven months,” I remind him.

“And whose fault is that, exactly?” Niall asks me.

I can't help but sigh. “Mine.”

“Are you ever going to tell me why you stopped talking to me?” Niall's voice changes and I can hear in his voice just how much I've hurt him with how I've acted.

“I... I can't. I don't know. I just didn't know what to say to you,” I admit.

“You could have started by telling me why you left without notice. You could have just apologized for not saying anything about leaving early and then we could've just moved on from there. You had options, Li.”
