The next few weeks were quite rough for everyone. Elijah wouldn't allow Hayley to leave the house because he was scared something would happen to her and Elena was still getting used to the fact that Caroline was no longer alive. "What's going on in that pretty little head of yours" Klaus grinned, snapping Elena out of her thoughts. "Not much" She lied. "Well, me and Hayley are going out to the bayou. She supposes that we can find her pack and yours" Klaus informed her. "She knows that I'm a crescent moon. Right?" Elena asked. "Yup, he's reminded me multiple times" Hayley chuckled as she appeared in the doorway of the parlor. "And Elijah's okay with this?" Elena scoffed. "No, but we're going anyway" The young wolf grinned. "We'd better be off then" Klaus sighed as he got up to leave. "See ya" Elena smiled as they both left.

As Rebekah walked out of the kitchen, she noticed Elena sulking in the parlour and decided to join her. "Okay seriously, what is up?" Rebekah asked as she sat next to Elena. "I don't know, it's just., Caroline's been dead for over a month and I still can't seem to accept it" Elena sighed. "You miss her, it's understandable" Rebekah whispered, not knowing what to say. "Is it wrong that I feel bad for what Hayley did to Genevieve?" Elena then asked. "Yes. You must be out of your mind if you feel sorry for that hag" Rebekah snapped. "But she was just trying to protect her own. I know what she did was horrible but who are we to judge? Most of you have done far worse and we'd probably do the same if it had affected us" Elena rambled on. "You're a good person Elena and you have a kind heart but please don't be so daft. Genevieve deserved to die" Rebekah scoffed. "I guess" Elena mumbled.

Meanwhile down at the bayou, Hayley and Klaus seemed to be getting along fairly well. "You and my brother seem to be very chummy" Klaus chuckled lightly as they walked through the forest. "It's not as if he'll ever see me as anything other than your one night stand" Hayley scoffed. "What makes you say that?" Klaus laughed. "The way he looks at Elena and just smiles. It's so clear that he feels something for her" The werewolf sighed as they trampled through the mud. "Oh don't worry, she doesn't feel the same" Klaus smirked. "And how do you know that?" Hayley questioned. "Well" Klaus began, but immediately stopped when he sensed someone near by. "We have company" He whispered to Hayley as he pulled her with him and hid behind a tree. "Who the hell is it?" The young wolf snapped. "Quiet!" Klaus growled as he covered her mouth with his hand. "Hello?" A voice called. Hayley rolled her eyes as she pushed Klaus' hand away from her and went to see who it was. "Hey" She smiled at the guy who was walking towards her. "He's a wolf" Klaus announced as he stepped out from behind the tree. "Crescent moon. So you don't wanna mess with me" The man scoffed. "I'm sorry, did you say crescent moon?" Hayley questioned. "Yeah. You know us?" He smiled. "I've been looking for you my entire life" The young wolf exclaimed happily as she ran to hug him. "I'm Hayley" She then nervously said as she backed away. "Hayley. As in Hayley Marshall!" The black haired male squealed. "How do you know my surname?" Hayley asked with confusion. "I'm Jackson. And I think you should probably come with me because there's a lot you need to learn" Jackson grinned. "She's not going anywhere with you" Klaus snarled. "Shut up Klaus" Hayley scoffed as she followed Jackson through the forest. "Damn you!" The hybrid cursed before heading in the opposite direction.

Back at the quarter, Elijah was busy protecting Elena from Marcel. "I came here to grieve my friend Marcel. Not to make some stupid deal with you!" Elena snapped. "Well I'm sorry for your loss" Marcel smiled sympathetically . "Why would you care. You're just a big bad vampire" The young hybrid shouted as Elijah tightened his hold on Marcel's neck. "Let go of him" She then sighed. "You're lucky I haven't killed you yet" Elijah snarled at the vampire before releasing his hold on him. "Look. Maybe we started off on the wrong foot. And I realized that maybe I could use a pair of hands to help me run things around here." Marcel smirked at the Doppelganger. "No way in hell. Come on Elena, we're leaving" Elijah scoffed as he began the walk away but stopped when he realized Elena wasn't following him. "Come on" He urged. "Just. Shut up for a second" Elena squealed as she tried to think. "I need some time. I'll tell you what my decision is the next time I see you" She then told Marcel before leaving with Elijah.

At the Bayou, Hayley had finally found her pack and was getting to know them all. "Tell her about the wedding" One of the older ladies whispered to Jackson. "Who's wedding?" Hayley interrupted. "Ours" Jackson mumbled. The young wolf looked at him before bursting out with laughter, causing everyone to send looks her way. "You're kidding right?" She gulped when she realized everyone had gone silent. "Follow me" Jackson said as he got up and left the room. "Go on. He needs to show you something" The old lady smiled as she helped Hayley get up. "What's going on?" She asked when she entered the room that Jackson was in. "Here" The wolf sighed as he handed over a piece of paper to her. "This was a pact that our grandparents had signed. They wanted us to get married" Jackson explained. "But we don't have to, right?" Hayley questioned. "It's all upto you. We've spent years trying to find you. And now that we have, everyone hopes that the wedding can happen" Jackson smiled. "This is just too much. I mean I don't wanna disappoint you or our pack but.., We've only just met" Hayley whispered. "I get it. It's fine. Go home and have some rest. We'll talk another day" Jackson said as he placed a light kiss on her cheek. Hayley grinned at him before leaving the hut. "You're not coming back here, and you're not telling Elena you found them. These guys are lunatics" Klaus snarled as he grabbed Hayley's arm and sped through the forest towards the quarter. "You can't control me!" Hayley snapped. "I'm not controlling you. I'm doing what's best for our child" Klaus shouted. "Well a few weeks ago you didn't seem to give a shit!" The young wolf shrieked. "This is not to be debated. You're not going there. End of" The original barked before heading towards his home. As he opened the door and walked inside, he picked up a familiar scent. A familiar male scent. He hurried to the parlor, only to see Elena sitting there with an unconscious Damon on the floor.

"What the bloody hell is going on?" Klaus scoffed. Elena looked at him with tears pooling in her eyes. "He's going to wake up soon and I need you to compel him" She sniffed. "Compel him to what?" Klaus asked worriedly. "To forget me. To forget Stefan. To forget everything that has anything to do with Mystic Falls" Elena cried. "What are you talking about luv? I can't do that" Klaus sighed as he went to sit next to her. "Yes you can. I'm telling you to do it" Elena whimpered. "I can't put him through this. I can't have him putting himself in danger for me or his brother. Compel him to live in Belgium or something. Please." She then added. And as she did, Damon slowly regained his consciousness. Elena looked over at Klaus and then walked over to Damon to help him get up. "Why the hell did you snap my neck!" He shouted in annoyance. "What's wrong?" He then asked when he saw Elena had tears rolling down her cheeks. "I love you.  And it's because I love that I'm letting you go" She cried. "What are you talking about?" The blue eyed vampire snapped as he looked over at Klaus. "Are you with him?" He gulped. "No silly." Elena chuckled lightly as she wiped her tears away. "I want you to live your life. Without worrying about me or Stefan. I want you to be free" She smiled as she placed a kiss on his lips. "Elena please, I don't understand" Damon whimpered. "Basically mate, I'm gonna compel you" Klaus smirked as he sped over to him and grabbed his face, glaring into his icy blue eyes. "You're gonna leave this town and won't even look back. I want you to forget about Elena and forget about Stefan. Just forget about Mystic Falls completely. Go live your life or whatever" And just like that, Damon sped out of the house.
