Pathetic hybrid

My eyes fluttered open and I tried to lift myself up but I was stuck,a pressure was keeping me down,I turned over to see Kai's face inches from mine.

The lines of care and toil had smoothed and virtually disappeared, the crows feet round his eyes now but a memory. Eyelids closed against the dim light of dawn and his breathing deep and relaxed, all the muscles in his face and body were totally at peace, like a baby in its' first seconds of slumber.

Kai's eyes snapped open and met mine.
I quickly turned round and jumped out of the bed,walking into my bathroom,and locked the door.

What was I suppose to do?Stay their and stare at each other in awkward silence.helll no

I looked down at my pyjama shorts and long top.I forgot my clothes...

I unlocked the door and walked out into my bedroom.Kai was sitting in the corner on my swirly chair.He my looked up and smirked at me.

I looked at his hands to see my jeans and vest top in a tidy pile.
"You forgot this"I snatched it and rushed In to the bathroom.
"Avianna!"Kai called from the room
"Yeah?"I answered while pulling on my clothes and brushing my hair.

"Your 18 tomorrow right?"Kai asked
I rolled my eyes.Honestly what is it with these people and my birthday.

"Uh yeah why?"I opened the door and walked into my bedroom,seeing Kai laying on my bed.

His arms were behind his back and he smirked at me as I came In.
"I need to make sure your birthday present is ready!"he smiled and sat up.

I felt myself simply starring at him he tilted his head at me.
I couldn't get over this feeling I had about him,It was as if I had known him before I had met him,if that makes any sense?!

"My parents want to see you!"he cut me out of my daydream just like that.
I raised my eyebrow "why?" He shrugged and opened the door waiting for me.

I slipped past him and followed him through the corridors once again.

As my eyes slowly adjusted to the dim lights in the room I realized there was a small fire burning on one side of the wall, surrounded by a huge, brown couch and a rocking chair. I looked to my left and found a large dining table, with several chairs around it, a small closet with lots of dishes and glasses behind it, and several mirrors on the sides of the sort-of-seperate room. Near the middle of the living room I saw three large, red sofas forming a U letter with a rather low table in front of them, with nothing but a large vase with three beautiful red roses sticking out, in front of the sofas, I found a rather big T.V stand with two units on each side. The units has several different animal sculptures on them. I couldn't see really well from the distance between but I could make out a tiger, a wolf, a horse and what I thought was a gazelle. I then realized I wasn't standing, but on a huge, leather chair. It wasn't very comfortable and it made my skin itch, but it looked very grand with the large black desk in front of it, with a computer on the desk. I looked over my shoulder and spotted several photo frames all over the wall, pictures of family and friends, along with several framed awards and certificates. On my other side I spotted endless shelves of shelves, coating the walls, filled with books. Many of these books were obviously special editions or collection items, and some looked at least a decade or so older than me. Several lit candles were hung on the sides and their plates were covered with dried wax. The candles were all lit, and looking upwards I saw several glass chandliers with candles on their plates. These two were lit, but no matter how many candles they hung up it would never be enough to light up all the whole room. Near the desk, I saw several more large candles and smirked. I wondered how anyone could put a candle and a computer near the same area. I looked down and saw why I was freezing, no carpets covered the wooden floor.

"Avianna"Aurelia smiled warmly at me and pulled me out of my daydream.
"where it is your birthday and you will turn 18 tomorrow,I think it would be best if start classes on the Monday,it's a brand new term !" Monday ...that's 2 days after my birthday
"It has also come to my attention that you have nothing to wear for tomorrow!"I blinked
What did she mean? Ohhhh the party!

"Oh yeah...it will be fine I can  wear one of my dresses"she frowned and laughed.
"No,that will no do seraphina will be taking you to the village to pick a dress and some school things "she smiled and before I could say I was fine she was telling me to be ready to go at 2:00pm to fine Noah to escort me to the gates.

Then I was walking out and going to my room,I turn round to see if Kai was there but he wasn't.

I walked in a grabbed my phone checking the time.

11:00-3 hours till I have to go

I flopped onto my bed and simply Layed there.what to do ???

I jumped up and left my room.
If I'm going to stay here I had to know my way around.
I walked around the building,peering into each room I passed to get a sense of direction.

I stopped dead in my tracks.A man walking out of the shadows glaring at me.
He bared his fangs at me, charging at me.

I saw it coming, but it caught me off guard. I felt a balled fist make contact with my muscle, watching it smash my entrails together like a rogue freight train. I felt blood vessels burst and my diaphragm collapse under the force the fist packed behind it. Oddly enough, the fist continued to thrust upward until my liver and stomach stopped the other guy's knuckles from clashing into my spine. My breath instantly left me for dead as I doubled over. My knees buckled from the force of the blow, and as I went down, I swear I heard a cracking noise ricochet between my ribs. Fire ran through every fiber of my abdomen, and I tasted bile, adrenaline and a hint of blood.

As my crumpled body hit the ground, I gasped for air, but  oxygen eluded my grasp.

A figure ran in with in-human speed and looked at my attacker and me on the floor.

Hunter?

Hunter Leaned over me on his knees checking me quickly.A shadow passed over me,grabbing hunters neck with a clawed hand and throwing him backwards against the wall.

Hunter fell to the ground,crawling his way back up slowly.

The man picked up his boot and placed it over my throat pressing down.I lifted my hands trying to pull of his foot but it was stuck life iron.
I gasped and spluttered,I looked over to Hunter he was on the floor staring at me wide eyed.
"Say goodbye to the pathetic hybrid"the man whispered but loud enough for me and Hunter to her .He lifted his door to stomp down on my throat but a roar like I had never heard before erupted from Hunter as he launched at the man.

The man was pressed against the wall,laughing at Hunter.He whispered something in hunters ear and hunters shoulder raised and plunged his hand into the man chest.The mans eyes widened and blood poured out of him mouth.

When Hunters hand slipped out of his chest he crumbled to the ground and his heart took its last beat in Hunters hand.
