xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxWe soon reached the town centre. The sun was not helping us by shining almost too brightly and making us sweat like piglets. The town centre was absolutely stunning and identical to the pictures. There were little shops selling handcrafted materials and cloth along the sides and a long array of food stalls in the middle. We took our drivers number in case we needed him urgently and sent him off. We wouldn't be needing him before six in the evening and according to my watch, it was just nine fifty six. "Nine hours to ourselves!" Casey squealed. "Let's get shopping. Alex and Jamie made me take an oath that I get something for them." I chuckled as we both set off with the crowd.
"Look at this beauty!" Casey almost cried as she lifted a beautiful pendant with the initial C craved on it. "It was made for Aunt Courtney!" I squealed, making her huge smile fade away. "Ugh! I planned on keeping it myself." She whined. "So selfish." I nudged her as she scowled. "Hey look at this!" She called out to me as she eyed another store. She was pointing at a jewellery box, by the looks of it. It was made of silver and looked pretty fancy. It had a rose structured in the middle. "How much for this?" I asked the shop keeper. I really didn't care about he cost. Gifts were priceless. I handed him the amount and placed it in my bag. I planned on giving it to my mom. It just felt like it begged to be in her hands. "Nice choice." Casey said.
We spent almost the entire nine hours shopping and stuffing our stomachs with the local food which was lip-smacking good. We knew we'd have a bad stomach ache later, but it was oh-so worth it. We didn't want to waste a single second there. Maybe that's why I decided to take a minute and breathe.
"What are you doing?" Casey asked me, clearly annoyed. "Just taking a second." I replied as I stared at the sun and the overlooking city. Stunning was the only word which came to mind when I saw the scene. I stared at it for what felt like an hour when Casey interrupted me. "Well, if you and Mr View are done with your romance, can we move on, please?" She begged me. I nodded and joined her back into the crowd.
"I need to go to the bathroom. Really!" Casey whined after an hour. "It's getting pretty late. Go ahead. I'll call our driver." I told her as I glanced at my watch which read six ten. I was keen on time, if you couldn't already tell. Casey headed back into one of the many ladies' washroom stalls as I stood outside and called our driver. "I'll be there in ten minutes." He said as he hung up. The drivers knew many shortcuts so I wouldn't be surprised if he claimed to be here in such a short period of time. Casey was taking almost too long in the washroom. So I started pacing around.
A loud thud caught my attention. I almost jumped and turned around. There was nobody there. I slowly walked towards the direction. I hid behind one of the stalls since I'm no karate black belt. I was astounded to see the woman with orange hair almost sprawled on the ground and a man wearing all black and a black mask covering his face talking to her. More like screaming.
"Where is she!?" He yelled. His voice made shivers go down my spine. "I-I don't know." The woman replied. "Don't lie to me, peasant!" He spat back. He grabbed her by the collar. "Where is Rayne Hills?" He asked. I had to hold on to the door super tightly in order to avoid myself from literally falling off. "I don't know! I haven't even seen her since I arrived! Maybe she's off to another country and your messenger have you wrong co-ordinates!" She yelled, exasperated. His dark eyes bore into hers for a minute and hers didn't falter. "Go." He commanded as he turned back. Within a second, there was the sound of bones cracking. I will never in my entire existence forget the scene I saw.
Instead of the woman, there stood a big brown wolf.
