Chapter 7

Lily's POV

Time passed and it was already mid October. On defense against the dark arts we were learning how to make a patronus, the fist quidditch game was coming up and Professor Dumbledore announced that seven is having a Halloween party and we can dress up and dance.

I was having trouble with making the patronus and James had was having a not so hard time like me. I needed to ask him for help.

"James? Can I ask you something?" I asked him one day on the corridor he was with his friends and asked then to leave us. Sirius was making kissing faces at me and I blushed. Luckily I hoped that no one say that. We started walking and I started talking.

"So I was wondering, cause I have seen that you have done so well in making the patronus charm so I am asking you if-"

"If I can help you? Of course I can help you Lils. Meet me in the common room tonight we can practice there." He interrupted.

"Thank-you James! See you later." I said and walked down to the Great Hall with him.

I ate dinner with Marlene and Alice and we noticed that the boys weren't eating their food. It was so weird cause normally they hunt down their food but this time they didn't. I dropped down my fork and said.

"Mar, Alice stop eating!" I said to them.

"Why?" They asked.

"Because them," I said pointing to the Marauders who were looking at us "aren't eating and I am 100% sure they did something to it. "

"You can keep eating until we tell you when to stop. Trust us." Remus told us. We looked at each other and continued and then Peter said.

"Okay now stop." The four of then were looking at each other when suddenly there were screams all around the hall.

"Ahh! They have feet!"

"The fish just winked at me!"

I turned down and looked at my spaghetti and saw it was dancing and twirling. The boy were smirking. They ran out the big doors laughing. Dumbledore stood up and with just a wave from his wand the food turned back to normal. I finished eating my pudding and went up to the Gryffindor common room. James was already waiting for me and Remus was doing homework, Sirius reading a magazine and Peter eating a chocolate frog. I walked up to James and smiled.

"You guys are always amazing me." I said to them

"Well Lily I am glad you liked it. Well let's start. Try and say the spell."

"Okay." I concentrated and said. "Expecto Patronum." But only a whip came out of my wand.

"Well, let's try another happier thought. Something more powerful. Now let's try it again." He said

I closed my eyes and I though when my parents, petunia and I went skiing. That was a happy thought but something came to my mind. The time when I received my letter to Hogwarts that was such a happy time.

"Expecto Patronum." The words came out in a whisper. I opened my eyes and saw a doe. It was trotting al around the common room that caught the other Marauders attention and turned to look at me. I was smiling that finally I could cast the patronus charm. James was in pure shock it just made me wonder why.

"What's wrong James?"

"Show h-her." Peter stammered.

I just stared waiting for an answer. James took out his wand and said.

"Expecto patronum." A white figure appeared and went with my doe. Then I figured out what animal it was. A stag. I have read things and like some muggles would say we are soul mates. I stared there a few seconds and ran out of the common room. I kept running until I found a empty room and sat in a corner and cried my eyes out.
