Danny's POV

Ember and I ate cereal on my little chestnut dining table. Ember had preferred the Cocoa Puffs, while I very much enjoyed my Trix.

"I have a question." Ember said out of the blue.

"Shoot." I told her, getting a spoonful of cereal and putting in my mouth.

"If your not supposed to push all the ectoplasm out of your body, why do you go out at night in your ghost form and play with your blood?" She questioned.

"First thing first, I don't 'play' with blood, I experiment. And even if I don't want my human side's blood to be completely consumed, I still need to exert my ectoplasm every now and then." I explained. I can't let my ecto-energy overlap overtime.

"That's it!" She said with sudden realization and enthusiasm. "That's why you were so slow to notice me and your movements were so sluggish! Your energy's piling up!" I realize what she meant.

My body's used to exerted mass amounts of energy, so it makes sense that my movements are a bit sluggish. And I haven't been even using my ice core at all! Many don't know, but too much energy is bad. Ghosts have a balanced amount of ecto-energy to use. Too much energy is like a heavy backpack, it only slows me down.

"Ah, I see." I said in realization. I have to find some way to exert a mass amount of energy without attracting someone or something.

Awkward silence soon followed. It was getting a bit uncomfortable, so I continues eating my cereal.

"Ya got a costume?" She asked, trying to stimulate a conversation.

"What costume?" I asked confused. I didn't remember anything that had to do with a costume.

Ember groaned in frustration. "For the party, dummy! The flier said that you need a costume to enter."

"Oh," I said rather bored. I wasn't to excited for the party. It was some little costume party, not like some big-time villain was goin' to crash it or anything.

" 'OH'!" she exclaimed. "We NEED  to get costumes STAT!" If you couldn't have guessed, Ember's pretty passionate with parties.

She suddenly stood up from the table, grabbed me by my sleeve, and proceeded to drag me to the door.

"Ember! I haven't finished breakfast!" I yelled, trying to pull away from her grip, but she seemed to be very strong.

"No time!" She yelled back, pulling my sleeve harder.

"Ember! I'm in pajamas! And we don't have any money on us!" I tried to reason with her. I only have pajama pants and a comfy sweater for ghost's sake! Not to mention my hair's a mess!

After a little bit, she finally saw reason. She dropped me, making me fall to the floor. I slightly wince at the pain.

" 'Kay, Betwixt, Imma give ya ten minutes, no more no less!" She told, pointing towards me. Out of nowhere, I heard a screech.

Spooks came flying, beak wide open. For a split-second, I could see her focusing at Ember's pointed finger.  Ember quickly retracted her finger. Spooks, seeing that he missed, made a turn and landed on my shoulder.

"Why is it always my finger?" She complained. I had a slight theory.

"Well it could because she thinks your finger is like her mice, food." I theorize. Then a thought came to mind: MICE!

I speed walk towards the kitchen, Ember just looked at me confused. I went to the mice cabinet, took a mouse out of it's cage, and through it at Spooks. She flew off my shoulder and took the mice by her beak. While I had the chance, I sprinkled a bit of cheese into the mouse cage. I don't need them to die so soon.

"You just wasted two minutes! Don't you want to live?" She shouted at me. I then decided to do everything as quickly as possible.

*8 Minutes Later

I was just finished and was about to take a tiny break to take at least a spoonful of Trix more. But I was quickly pulled by the arm, since I was just wearing a normal black T-shirt.

"We got to go now!" Ember yelled. We were near exiting the apartment when I took something to realization.

"But what about your appearance? You literally glowing blue! It was okay back then because you were a rock star and everything, but it's really abnormal!" I told her. I didn't need to be put into suspicion by any ghost hunting organization!

"I got that all figured out!" She told me with a grin. She whipped out a weird looking ring with a big blue gem on it. She put on her index finger, and slowly, she changed in appearance. The strands of her flaming hair fell down slowly, turning into a ashy black color. Her skin slowly lost it's ghostly grow, the color turning into a light shade of brown. But her clothes stayed the same, an so did her eyes.

"Wicked cool, isn't it?" She asked, still wearing a giant grin on her face.

'Well, isn't this a surprise'
