Lex

"Do you need anything, Ma?" Grampa asked Grammy.

"Nathaniel, I am ninety-two, it's hot, and I'm sweating like a whore in church. What do you think?" Grammy remarked.

He rolled his eyes as he looked at Nana. "Well, ninety-two hasn't slowed her down."

"Hmm," Nana agreed.

We pulled into Grampa's driveway and got out of the van. Kaiden and Kain helped me with bringing the stuff in while Ma and Dad grabbed the cake. My crazy sisters grabbed the rest of the material. Well, that was if they could keep Larkin from eating it all.

We walked inside as everyone greeted us, including Grammy.

"There are my devil children," she announced.

We all looked at her.

"Don't give me that look. You know damn well, your parents spawned you from the depths of hell," she smirked.

"Yes, and you are our queen," Larkin retorted, great.

A smile curled upon her lips. "Now, give me a hug, you brats."

We all walked over and hugged her. Grammy was bat shit crazy, but we still loved her. I mean, she had to deal with Grampa and his brothers along with Dad, his brothers, and cousins. If anyone can survive them, it's her.

She walked over to me, "Lex?"

"Hey Grammy," I said as I hugged her.

"I think there's someone here you would like to see," she motioned to the backyard. I looked past her and saw Piper talking to some cousins. Then I saw him walk up and wrap his arm around her waist.

"I think she's busy," I said. "Excuse me." I walked away.

Grammy turned and looked at them. "Well, this won't do at all. That boy needs to go, and you all will help me," she said as she turned and looked at my family, then smiled.

They all looked at each other.

I walked outside and saw Marshall and Murphy with their girlfriends. I walked over to them.

"Hey, cuz," Marshall said, greeting me.

"Hey, Marshall, hey, Murphy, hey some chicks, I don't know," I greeted them.

"So, when are you going to make your move?" Marshall asked me.

"What move?" I asked them, knowing what they're referring to Piper.

"With Piper, dumb shit," Murphy retorted.

"I'm not. Can we drop this? It's bad enough. I got my sisters and Frick and Frack, busting my balls about this?" I huffed.

"Well, to bust one's balls, you must have them. I'm pretty sure yours have yet to descend," Niall said, walking up with Noel agreeing with him.

"Dude, talk to her," Brody said, walking up to us with Beau.

"You don't think I have? Christ, how about everyone gets off my freaking back!" I was about to lose my shit as everyone stopped and looked at me, great. That was the last thing I needed. I walked away from them and past my parents.

"Lex!" Ma yelled.

She looked at them as they looked away, whistling.

"I'll go talk to him," Dad said, going into the house.

He looked around as Nixon walked in. "Someone wants to tell me why junior is sitting out front?"

"Because this family doesn't know when to stop," he said as he went out front. Nixon turned on his heel and followed him.

They came outside and found me sitting on the front steps, and they both took a seat on each side of me.

"If either of you mentions Piper, I swear I will scream," I huffed.

"What are you a chick?" Nixon asked. Dad and I looked at him. "Don't look at me. Junior, you sound worse than your dad when he was moaning over your ma."

We looked at him.

"Look, it's simple. First, you get rid of that tool Piper's with, then you sweep her off her feet. Don't think too long and hard about it," he said.

"Look, Lex, what my twit of a brother is trying to say is show Piper why you're the best person for her. One day she will see through the tool she's with," Dad said.

"Yeah, what he said," Nixon added.

"Now let's get back to the party," Dad said as he stood up along with Nixon. They went inside, and I sighed. It would be a long night.

I followed behind them with my hands shoved into my pockets.

The party was in full swing, with everyone having a good time. I walked over to the cake and looked at it. Dad and Ma did a great job on it. As I admired their handy work, my sisters gave me a slight push towards Piper.

Push? Let me rephrase that they shoved me at her, causing me to trip and knock into that tool. We fell to the ground; he got pissed, and I got the short end of the stick. He pushed me off of him and stood up.

"What the fuck is your problem?" The tool shouted at me.

I stood up and looked at him as the others stopped.

He walked up to me. "Everyone knows about your stupid crush on my girl. Give it up already. She won't ever date a reject like you," he snarled at me. I felt my blood boil and hauled off, hitting him. That's all it took.

He charged me, and we ended up in the cake. We fought as everyone tried to break it up, ending up in a big wrestling match.

"Now this is more like it! I thought this birthday would suck ass," Grammy grinned.

As we fought, I hear Piper yell, "Stop it!"

She pulled Roger off of me. I stood up as she said, "What is wrong with you, Lex?"

I stared at her.

"Roger is my boyfriend. Accept it." She turned and walked away with Roger as I stood there covered in cake.

"Lex?" I heard Lyric say.

I turned to them. "Don't." I walked away. I went out to the van and got in, driving it back to the bakery. I pulled up and got out. What a mess? I did nothing, but yet I got the blame. Now Piper hates me. My family made a fool out of me, and it covered me in cake and frosting.

I locked up the van and walked home. When I got there, I went upstairs and took a shower. All I could think was that no matter what I did, my sisters would ruin it. I sighed and turned off the shower.

I climbed out of the shower and wrapped a towel around me and went into my room. I looked for some clothes to put on and dropped my towel. What I didn't know was, someone got a full view of me naked.

Piper

I was so mad when I left the party. Roger and I fought like we always did about Lex. He still accused me of having a thing for Lex, even though I told him that we were just neighbors.

I was in my room when I noticed a light go on in the upstairs room of the Gray house. I looked, and to my surprise, there was a buck naked Lex. Well, hello there.

He didn't see me looking, but damn is all I can say. He had his back to me, and I couldn't help but stare at his ass. Wow, he had a nice one. Then he turned around, and my eyes widened, oh my.

I watched him dress and then the light went off. Oh, um, uh, I just saw Lex in a whole new light. When the hell did he get an eight pack? I sat down on my bed and flung myself on my back. I think I'm in big trouble.

Lex

I lay in bed with the light off. Piper has no interest in me. I mean, she took Roger's side over mine. Why can't everyone see that this would never happen? Am I the only one that sees it?

It doesn't matter. When it came down to it, it would never happen with Piper.
