With everything that happened, Ma and Dad allowed us to go on spring break along with Kaiden and Kain. Did they think this was a great idea?
I think the only reason they allowed us to go without them was that Major and Maverick were coming, figures.
We ended up going to Myrtle Beach, where Grammy's house was. Even though she didn't go there much anymore, the family still kept it for vacation.
We arrived, and everyone got settled. Piper and I hit the beach along with the others except for Luna and Major. Luna was unpacking when Major knocked on the door.
She turned to him, "Hey, I thought you went to the beach with the others?"
"I figure I would wait for you," he said, walking over to her.
She gave him a look. "Major, I'm fine. I doubt anyone will barrel through that door with a gun. Plus, I got this cool-looking scar," she grinned, pointing to her leg.
He gave her a look.
"Oh, lighten up. Isn't that what you say?" Luna asked Major.
"Yeah," he sighed. He grabbed Luna's hand. "It's just when I got there and saw you bleeding, my heart stopped."
She looked at him.
"Because I was afraid I would lose you," he whispered. Luna looked at him as he shook his head. "But that's crazy; I mean, you're a Gray, and you survive anything." He released her hand as he turned his back to her.
As he started to ramble, she called his name until she grabbed him and turned him around. Before he knew what happened, she grabbed his tank and crashed her lips onto his, taking him by surprise.
After a minute, he relaxed and wrapped his arms around her waist, returning the kiss, pouring everything into it. It wasn't like the kiss at homecoming. This time they replaced it with equal passion from both of them.
They pulled back and looked at each other. "That was so different from the first time," Luna said to Major.
"Yeah, trust me, it was tough not to give in, but I didn't want your dad to hit me as he did, Maverick," he smirked, causing her to giggle.
"The truth is Luna. I like you, but I had to keep my distance because I told your father I would wait until you turned eighteen. Then shit went south, and I was back to square one," he explained to her.
"So, you rejecting me wasn't because of how I looked?" She asked him with a quizzical look.
"Are you freaking kidding me?" Major exclaimed.
"Well," Luna started to say.
"Luna, if it's one thing I know for a fact is that you are by far the hottest girl I had ever met," he said to her, causing her cheeks to heat. He pulled her into another kiss, attacking her lips passionately. Then they pulled back breathlessly. "Now, let's make one thing very clear. We are taking things slow and getting to know each other, especially if you will be my girl."
"And what if I don't want to be your girl," she challenged him.
He pulled her tighter to him, "Oh, you want to be my girl because baby, I will treat you like a queen." Her eyes widened as he released her and took her hand, leading her out of the bedroom.
"Major! Where are we going?" Luna yelled.
"To the beach, woman! I want to see that bikini you're hiding!" She giggled.
While the rest of us had fun in the water, Larkin sat on the beach watching. Maverick walked over and took a seat next to her.
"You know, you could be out there having fun instead of here, hiding," he said to her.
