*Cheryl's Perspective*
Everything happened so fast, when I heard the gunshot I couldn't help but yell Toni's name. I had pulled my head up from behind the chair and watched her fight the black masked man. Then, in just one moment in time, when I heard that fateful gunshot, my heart stopped. I couldn't see Toni or the man, but I knew he shot her.
I heard sirens just outside Pop's and the door slam open, the man was already being held at gunpoint by Sherrif Keller and being cuffed and released of his gun by another officer. I ran to Toni and slid right beside her trying to cover the wound with my already bloody hands. She had lost so much blood in so little time. I was crying, the only thing I could say was "Please oh god, no, Toni." I was repeating it over and over as I picked up Toni and took her outside, where an ambulance was waiting and quickly took her and started to check for a pulse.
I got in the ambulance with them, they didn't seem to care knowing I was a Blossom and how desperate the situation was.
"I'm not getting a pulse, prepare to do CPR." One of the responders said. I was watching as they started to pump on her chest, then giving her two breathes, I felt like I couldn't breathe myself.
After 3 tries of repetitive CPR, they got out a defibrillator and quickly took off her clothing. I saw how bad the shot was before turning around. I heard the sound of a shock and a body being thrown into the air and slamming back into the table.
I held my breathe as they did their third and last shock, quickly checking for a pulse.
"I've got a pulse!" One of the responders said. I exhaled, and turned back around, sure enough I saw her chest going up and down. Thank god...
We arrived at the hospital as someone helped me out of the ambulance, quickly taking Toni out of the rolling table inside. I followed them all the way to the operating room before one of the nurses stopped me and asked to wait outside.
I sat down at one of the chairs and quickly pulled out my phones, hands shaking terribly as I pulled out Betty's number, quickly dialing it.
*Betty's Perspective*
I was with Jughead working on a new article about the south side and north side when I heard my phone ring. I picked it up and saw Cheryl's name.
"Who is it?" Jughead asked. "It's Cheryl, Juggy." I said before answering it.
"Hello?" I said into the phone.
"B-Betty, it's Cheryl, I-is Jughead with you?"
"Yeah, hang on I'll put you on speaker." I said, taking the phone away from my ear and pressing the speaker button.
"What's up Cheryl?" Jughead asked.
"You need to get to the hospital now. It-It's Toni, she was sh-shot." She said.
My eyes widened and looked at Jughead already getting up and grabbing his jacket, running out the door.
"We're on our way." I said before hanging up and heading out the door.
*The Hospital (Still Betty's Perspective)*
We arrived in only 5 minutes, I was superseded we didn't crash, Jughead was running every red light we passed and going way above the speed limit. We ran inside and found Cheryl with her head down in front of the operation room, sobbing. I ran to her and quickly enveloped her in my arms. At this point it didn't matter if we were on opposite sides, she needed someone.
"What happened."Jughead said firmly, staring at Toni through the small window, showing what was happening inside.
Cheryl was quiet for a few moments, still in my arms before she spoke, "We were at Pop's, just talking when we heard a gunshot outside, then h-he came in and headed to Pop. Toni tried to stop him but got sh-shot in the process-" After those last words she started sobbing into my shirt.
Once she stopped enough she continued, "-Turns out someone called Keller and Toni delayed him long enough for Keller to get him and arrest him." Cheryl said, placing her head farther into my shoulder.
"Hey it's okay, she's gonna be okay." I said, rubbing her back. I didn't know what to do, she was so broken.
Suddenly a nurse came out and informed us, "We got the bullet out in time, she's going to be okay." And she left down the hall.
I looked back at Cheryl and for the first time, I saw her smile. A real, genuine, smile.
I get it now, she likes Toni, a lot.
*Cheryl's Perspective*
At those last five words, I was happy.
After a while they took Toni to a room and layer her down on a bed, we had to wait a while to see her since they had to shower her and get her changed but when they let in visitors I was the first to see her. They told me she was still asleep, I didn't care.
I went in and saw a sleeping pink haired serpent. She had a black eye from being slammed into the wall But somehow she still looked so peaceful, and beautiful. I went up next to her and pulled up a chair. I stared at her for a while, thoughts of why she was stupid enough to do that. I decided I needed to go but as I got up I leaned over her and kissed her forehead, then left. But I could've sworn I saw a smile go across her face as I closed the door.
