*One Week Later* *Cheryl's Perspective*
I sat in my last class of the day impatiently tapping my pencil on my notepad. Toni was out on serpent business and was supposed to come back today. I didn't know when, all I knew as that I wanted to see her face. I wanted to hold her in my arms, and kiss her.
I was so deep in thought that I didn't realize Veronica's voice whispering to me. I jumped when I heard the bell and looked over and saw Veronica looking at me worried. "You okay Cheryl?" She asked.
"Yeah, just tired I guess." I responded, not really in the mood to talk to anyone. I packed my things up and walked out of the classroom. I was turning the corner when someone pushed me into the lockers. I closed my eyes, wincing from the sudden push, when I opened them I saw Reggie grinning at me. I rolled my eyes, "What do you want Reggie."
"You still hanging with that serpent scum?" He asked, smirking. I started to boil inside, sure I used to call them that but I'm different now. "Yes, and Toni isn't scum. You one the other hand are a completely different story." I say, trying to control the anger in my voice.
"Yeah, a story I bet you'd love to learn more about." He says, running his hand through a strand of my hair. I slap away his hand, "Nope, I'm good." I say plainly, not at all interested. "Oh come on, you know you want me." He says, trying to sound seductive. I cringed, god he was awful at this.
"I said no." I say raising my voice. Suddenly I felt a burning sensation on my face, realizing he just slapped me. At this point a crowd had gathered around us. "What did you say to me?" He yelled.
"I said." I start before leaning into his face more. "No." At this point you coulda see the fire in his eyes, then I felt another slap across my cheek.
"What the hell is going on here?!" I hear a familiar voice say. I sigh in relief when I realize who it was.
Toni.
*Toni's Perspective*
As I wandered the halls of the school, searching for a certain redhead, I couldn't help but smile at the though of her. I had been away for only a week, but god I missed her. The serpent business went well, no trouble for once. As I turned the corner to the main hallway, I saw a crowd around a set of lockers. Then I heard a loud sound, "What the hell?" I muttered as I made my way over.
I heard two sets of voices yelling at each other, then another loud noise. I pushed my way past the tall crowd and as I got to the center, pushing past the last person, I realized who it was. "What the hell is going on here?!" I yell, seeing my girlfriend shoved against a locker, bright red marks on her face. I look at her, then at Reggie, who's staring at me.
"Reggie. You have about ten seconds to get the hell out of here." I say firmly, glaring at him with so much fury in my eyes. He lets go of Cheryl and smirks, "Or what? What are you gonna do about it?" He laughs. I look at Cheryl, giving her a small smile, "Mind giving me a minute?" I ask her, she just nods, "Please, by all means. I'm in no rush." She says.
I turn back to Reggie who's still smirking at me. I then grab the collar of his shirt and pin him against the lockers that Cheryl had moved out of the way from. Once he was up against the locker I use my kneecap to kick his crotch. He almost immediately falls to the ground, holding his area like his life depended on it.
I squat next to him, smiling. "That, is what I'll do. Come near Cheryl again and I'll be much less lenient." I say, he then scrambles up off the floor, running out of the doors. I turn around to see Cheryl with her arms crossed, smiling at me. "God I'm glad I met you Topaz." She says laughing. At this point the crowd has dispersed, leaving only me and Cheryl. I stand up and walk over to her.
She then wraps me in her arms which I return, "I missed you." I whisper. As we pull away I look at her cheek, which seems to be better. "Why was he doing that to you?" I ask, placing my hand on her hot cheek. "Apparently he wants me to date him, I of course declined, multiple times, followed by slaps." She says. "I'm okay though, I'm just glad your here." She says, running her fingers through a strand of my hair.
I then grab her wrist and take her outside to a secluded part of the school. "Hey what are y-" She is quickly cut off by my lips being placed on hers. I couldn't take it anymore, she was tempting my patience and she didn't even know. It was like she was begging me to kiss her, and when I did she wrapped her hands around my neck. As we pulled apart she whispered so gently, "God I missed you."
I laughed, followed by her joining in. I pulled her into a tight embrace, holding her, savoring her warmth. I then felt like messing with her so while in the embrace I moved my hand to her waist where I picked her up. She was was light as she squealed at the sudden lift. Then she gave and adorable giggle that would forever be planted into the back of my head as I lowered back down to the ground.
I smiled and held out my hand, "Would you like a ride home?" I ask, knowing full well she'll say yes. "Of course I would dummy. Can I wear your jacket?" She asks. I take off my serpent jacket and give it to her. It fit her perfectly, like the night at the mountain. As we walked to my bike, hand in hand, I heard her humming. It was peaceful, I wish I could just hold her in my arms forever, letting her hum a beautiful song.
As we got on and I revved the engine. Once it started she wrapped her arms tightly around my waist as we took off. I couldn't help but let a small blush arise on my face and a grin to form as well.
Once we got to her house and stopped the bike, I felt her tighten her grip on me. I grabbed her hand after I took my helmet off. "Hey I know, I'm sorry." I say, not knowing what else to do. She then releases her grip on me and I fling my leg around to where I'm facing her on my bike. "I hate her, and I can't get rid of her." She says, a tear falling down her face. I wrap my arms around her, taking in her sweet scent.
"I wish I could do something Cherry. I really do. If I could I'd tear that bitch apart." I say, adding a nickname trying to make her feel better. I feel her smile, allowing me a little relief. I pull away from her, "I know how hard it is to do this, but you have me. If anything happens just text me, and I'll be there. Okay?" I say, rubbing her arms. She nods and gets off the bike. I turn back around and start up the engine. I watch her go to the front door, then look back at me. I give her a thumbs up which she returns before opening the door.
"CHERYL BLOSSOM COME HERE RIGHT NOW." I hear her mother yell. I was about to get off my bike and run inside, but Cheryl stops me, "Toni, please. I'll be fine, I promise." She says giving a small smile. I slump back down into my motorcycle as she closes the front door. I instantly hear yelling.
Then I hear something shatter.
That's it.
