*Toni's Perspective*

I woke up staring at an unfamiliar ceiling. I looked around to see that I was in a hospital, then all the memories of what happened at Pop's flushed back into my mind. I tried to sit up but was only met with agonizing pain. I lifted the shirt I was wearing to see a bullet wound on my stomach, wrapped around to prevent me from moving to far upwards.

Suddenly a door opens and I look up to see a nurse, I quickly pull my shirt down. "Ah, Ms. Topaz, you're awake." The nurse says, looking at her clipboard.

"How long have I been here?" I asked. "Only about a day, you have a black eye and obviously a stomach wound." She said as she moved around to the bed and began to do my vitals. Once she was finished I asked, "How long will I be in here?"

"Well everything seems normal, but we'd like to keep you in for one more day,  just to make sure." She said as I nodded. "Oh, and we'll teach you on how to use your crutches. If all goes well you should be out of here by tomorrow morning." She said.

"Okay, thank you." I said. As she went to leave the room I quickly blurted out, "Um nurse?"

"Yes what is it Ms. Topaz?" She asked, looking at me. "Could you not let any visitors in?" I asked, I didn't want anyone to see me this way. I also kinda wanted to surprise everyone by going into school tomorrow.

"Of course dear, we will begin teaching you about your crutches later, please rest now." She said closing the door.

*Cheryl's Perspective*

I went to the hospital before school Monday morning to see Toni, but they said she wasn't taking visitors. I also asked when she would be out but they told me they couldn't give out any information like that at the moment since it was still too soon.

I sighed as I parked my car in front of the school, heading out and through the front doors. Word had gotten around of what Toni had done, so naturally, all eyes were on me. As I walked down the hall, I heard whispers and Veronica came up to me.

"Hey Cheryl are you okay? We all heard about what happened at Pop's" she said, quickly taking to my side as we made our way to my locker. "I'm fine, thanks to Toni. If she hadn't of done what she did I probably would be dead." I smiled at the thought of Toni, but quickly resumed my face.

"Well I really do hope your okay, I have to get to class. See you at Vixens practice." Veronica said, walking away. I got my things out of my locker and headed to class, just try to make it through the day.

*End of School*

Finally, I'm free of this hellhole. I got in my car and pulled out my phone and tried to call Toni, no answer. I figured she was probably asleep, so I drove home. I headed into my house and made my way upstairs, avoiding my mother.

I quickly changed into some shorts and a red loose T-Shirt. I laid on my bed, letting thoughts of Toni consume me. Soon I fell asleep peacefully thinking of Toni.

*Toni's Perspective*

I had spent most of yesterday sleeping and practicing with my crutches to where I pretty much perfected limping around with them. The only person I talked to yesterday was Jughead, asking him to bring me clothes and to ask him for a ride to school.

As we rode to school in his dads truck, considering I couldn't ride on a motorcycle. He asked me, "Are you sure your up for this? All eyes are gonna be on you." He said glancing every so often at me but keeping his eyes on the road. "I'll be fine Jughead." I said, still staring out at the road as the school came into view.

Jughead got out of the car first, helping me out and grabbing my crutches and handing them to me. We started out way up, taking the side of the stairs that had a ramp. I took a deep breath as we stood in front of the doors, Jughead with one hand on the door, waiting for my command to open it.

"Go." I said firmly. He pushed open the door and I went inside, immediately all eyes were on me as I stood there, looking at the crowds of students. I started down the hallway, Jughead right at my side, as people stared at me and making way for me straight down the hallway.

Suddenly, someone started clapping, and pretty soon, two more sets of claps joined in I looked around to see Betty, Veronica, and Archie clapping. Pretty soon all the students joined in and clapped for me, Jughead included. Why not give them a show? I thought to myself.

Using all my strength I stood from my crutches, handing them to Jughead, and saluted to them. Turning in all directions, their were now cheers and whistles over the clapping. I took my crutches back and was about to start my way down the hall when a certain redhead popped out from the crowd. I smiled, seeing Cheryl, without a scratch on her, standing in front of me.

"Thank god." I said looking down, "I thought he might have hurt you after I blacked out." I said, with a tear streaming down my face. I heard the significant sound of heals clinking towards me, I lifted my head to see Cheryl right in front of me, and wrapping her arms around me. I let go of my crutches, wrapping my arms around her as tightly as I could. "Thank you." She said, that was enough for me to understand everything. I didn't care if everyone in the school was watching, all I cared about was that she was safe.

Jughead had grabbed my crutches as I pulled away from Cheryl, handing them back to me. She smiled and said something that everyone could here this time.

"Welcome back Toni Topaz!" She exclaimed, making everyone cheer and clap again. I laughed as I looked around at everyone. I looked back at her and saluted, "Anything for you, Cherry Bombshell."

She smiled and we walked to our classes, the rest of the day was filled with laughs and explanations. What would happen that afternoon however.

I will never forget.
