Mason's pov
I'm in my office right now smirking to myself. It worked, I knew it would. Soon, Nova is going to be mine. I'm the one who contacted her through Jason's number...not him. I knew it was her when I got the call. I knew sooner or later she'd try to reach out to him. Especially after that letter I sent her. Everything is going into place. The next step is to take her and bring her here. That's what I'm planning for now.
"I want you to be the one to bring her here. Then I'll be waiting for her" I said to Hayes.
"And if she brings the other girls?" He said.
"I guess we're taking all of them. But I have a feeling she'll be showing up alone" I said.
"You really think so?" He said.
"Trust me...she thinks she's meeting the guy she loved. She won't be showing up with anyone" I said confidently. Before Hayes can get another word in, my office door flies open and two of my men walk in.
"Mason" Jeff said.
"What is it?" I said.
"Rivals want to do a drug a deal. They want you to meet them in 20 minutes" He said and I rolled my eyes. I've had another mafia group as rivals for years now. It's constantly a battle between us.
"What, are they trying to set me up again?" I said laughing a little.
"They want some of the new drugs we have in exchange for information" He said which caught my attention.
"What kind of information?" I said.
"Information on Carter" He said and I looked to him. What information could he possibly have on Carter? It's been over a year now since he was killed...
"Tell them I'll be there" I said standing up.
"Let us come with you" Hayes said.
"No, I need to go alone. Stay here and watch over Jason and the others. You gotta get ready for tonight" I said to Hayes and he nodded. I leave my office and leave the building going to my car. I make sure I have a gun and then I go to the drivers seat starting the engine. I look to my phone at the address and then I speed off. The whole drive i'm really anxious. I don't know what they possibly could tell me about Carter. I have a feeling this is just a set up.
I arrive at the location and I see two cars sitting down an alleyway. I grab my gun and then I get out of the car going over to the trunk. I keep my eyes on the cars the whole time making sure nothing happens. I grab the briefcase out of the trunk and then the doors of the other cars open. I see three guys get out and I walk over to them. I see their leader, Cole, walking towards me.
"Mason" He said.
"Cole" I said back.
"You came" He said.
"You said you had information. I couldn't turn that down" I said.
"You're right. I do have information and I think you're gonna wanna hear it" He said.
"Tell me then" I said.
"Show me the drugs first" He said. I tighten my grip on the briefcase then I open it to reveal three little glass bottles filled with fluids. "What are they?" He said admiring them.
