The next morning as the sun shone through the window curtains.  Melanie began to stir awake.  Opening her eyes slightly.  Anthony was still sleeping beside her.  She glanced over at the time to see that it was mid morning.  Ten thirty.  This made Melanie more alert and jolt awake.  It had been awhile that she had gotten to sleep in that late.  Since before Beth had been born.  For a minute, she had thought that she was still back in Tennessee and had overslept.  Worried that Beth was roaming around the apartment on her own.  Until she remembered where she was.  She was in Australia and it was just her and Anthony.

Hearing Melanie beginning to stir.  Anthony opened his eyes glancing at her.  Watching her closely.  "Are you okay?"  He asked.  Melanie looked over at him as she heard his question.  Taking a deep breath.  "I'm fine, I just..  Forgot where I was for awhile."  She muttered.  It was the talk that they had last night.  With being back in Tennessee.  Melanie's thoughts were still back to their conversation.  Anthony raised his eye a bit curious but chose not to ask anything further.

Anthony had remained laying curled up under the covers.  "What time is it?"  He asked.  "Ten thirty."  Melanie responded.  Anthony slowly sat up in bed.  He wasn't used to being able to sleep in that late either.  "I just am not used to being able to sleep in this late."  Melanie admitted.  Anthony grinned giving a nod of his head.  "Well, you better take advantage of it while you can.  Because it won't be that much longer before we will have to head back again."  Melanie grinned back.  "I don't mind at all.  I've gotten used to it.  Plus.  When I get up early to get ready, I still always have a few hours to myself before Beth wakes.  Luckily she's a late sleeper."  Melanie laid back down so she was laying on her side, facing Anthony.

"Besides, I'm used to it now with having started working at the hospital when I worked there.  I am starting to like mornings.  With Beth around.  I wouldn't ever want to change that.  We sort of snuggle up on the couch for awhile till she wakes up.  She either likes to have the Disney channel on or I read her a book before she decides she wants to play."  Anthony smiled.  "It would be nice if I could be there more often.  I know that I for the most part can be there for the night ritual.  Getting her tucked in and reading her a story..."  Melanie nodded.  "You're there as much as you can be when work doesn't take you away.  And she enjoys being able to spend those times with you when she can."  "I know she does.  I just feel like I'll miss out a lot on a few things..  I've already missed her crawling."  He stated quietly.

Melanie watched him remaining quiet a few seconds.  She wasn't quite sure what to say.  "I'll tell her she has to wait till her daddy gets home."  Melanie smirked.  Anthony chuckled shaking his head.  "It doesn't really work that way."  "I know it doesn't..  But at least I got you to smile."  She winked.  Anthony looked at her with a bit of a surprised expression.  He was still getting used to the new Melanie.

"What are the plans for today?"  Melanie asked changing the subject.  Melanie knew that there were some conversations they'd have to have at some point.  Some more serious ones.  But for now, Anthony was right, they were supposed to be on this trip to have fun.  They were supposed to be here connecting.  To find the old selves.  And learn the new person each other had become.  But she didn't want it all to be too serious.  They needed to have fun while here.  As Anthony said, some of the troubles would be waiting back for them when they got back to Tennessee.

Anthony glanced at her.  "I thought that we could have the fish we caught for dinner this evening.  I've got everything set up already."  Melanie raised her eye.  "That we caught?" She asked.  Anthony smirked at her words.  "Okay, that you caught."  Melanie laughed.  "You don't like that I caught the fish and you didn't don't you?"  She teased.  Anthony chuckled.  "Hey, I chose the spot.  If I didn't choose the correct spot you wouldn't of caught the fish."  He winked.  Melanie grinned, still laughing.  "Okay okay.  I'll give you half credit for picking the right spot."  "Thank you!"  He grinned as he watched Melanie.  Seeing the twinkle in her eye as they were chatting.  Melanie was still unaware that he had heard her say I love you to him.  He knew that they had said the words before.  But he wasn't sure that they were really meant.  Just like Melanie.  He feared that half the time, it was because of the fact that they loved each other was because he was Beth's dad and she was Beth's mom.  He was worried that it was more of a I care about you way of saying I love you, because they shared a child together.  But yesterday it sounded different.  He thought he could actually hear it being said genuine.  But if he mentioned it now, he was worried that Melanie would back out of it.
