A few days had passed since the accident and Anthony's surgery.  Throughout that time, he'd been sleeping peacefully in his room.  With Melanie for the most part, being the one checking up on him.  For obvious reasons that Anthony didn't want anyone else working on him but Mel.  A few of the team members who'd been at the scene and answered the call whom Mel trusted, were there as well.  But they mostly did errands, running after to grab items Mel may need when she didn't want to leave Anthony alone.  Or took shifts in guarding the door.  Melanie now and then caught herself holding her breath with each passing minute.  The good thing?  Anthony still alive...  Somewhat..  But Melanie knew he would have plenty of recovery ahead of him.  If he survived.  She also worried that there was something she missed, when doing the surgery.  Since Melanie had been out of it more times than not while doing the procedure.  She had trouble focusing due to worrying.  Therefore concerned she'd missed a step.  And something else would happen.  Melanie shook her head getting rid of those feelings.  She should think positive.  Anthony made it this far, he had a chance of recovering.  Not focus on what could happen.  After all, Anthony chose her for doing the procedure because he had faith in her.  He believed she could help take care of him.  Help him make it through alive.  However, sometimes Mel couldn't help but think it..  What happened this weekend just proved her theory right.  Whenever she got too comfortable, thinking she could be happy, and let her guard down, something, or someone always brought it down.  Melanie wanted to keep the hope everything would turn out in the end, but she couldn't become overly excited.  Only to be let down again.

Bethany hadn't been able to see her father yet.  As soon as Melanie had been able.  She called Victoria and Levi, letting them know what all went down.  They of course came immediately.  Or as quick as they possibly could.  So Beth was now with them at the hotel nearby.  Waiting on news when Anthony woke up.  Melanie had been thankful Travis and his father were willing to wait around and help.  Otherwise she had no idea what she would've done with Beth.  But they were strangers.  Melanie didn't think this was something she should be burdening them with.  Though they were more than willing to help.  Melanie also thought it had been a good idea for Beth to get out of the hospital.  She didn't think her five year old should be spending this much time in such a place.  For it would only worry Beth even more.  And there was no sense in both of them worrying.  Melanie wanted her daughter away from the scene, so she wouldn't think about it as much.  Being in the hospital, only made Beth dwell on the matter, and Mel wanted her to forget it as best she could.  Travis had suggested getting Beth out of the place a bit by taking her back to their cabin for awhile, let her try and get some rest, or even out to a restaurant for a bit of food.  Melanie thought it as a nice gesture, and once again though she had been grateful for their assistance, she didn't completely trust the men.  She didn't know anything about them.  Or trust them alone with Beth.  Melanie felt guilty even allowing the idea to cross her mind.  Especially after everything they'd just done for her.  However, she couldn't help but think such thoughts.  Because of previous events that happened in her life.  Mel knew Travis and his father wouldn't do anything with her daughter.  They didn't seem like the type of people.  Plus they wouldn't just take off with Beth when Melanie knew they had her.  But it's just how it was.  Mel knew she couldn't really automatically assume about Travis and his father.  It was unfair to them for doing so.  But Mel still felt at times the universe was working against her.  Now more than ever.  So to Mel, anything could happen.  She felt it would just be easier for Beth to be with her two friends.  Melanie would trust Vic and Levi with her life.  So when Mel had the chance to call the couple and the two of them arrived, Mel was relieved.  Melanie then went and told Travis and his father she had everything taken care of after calling Victoria.  Letting them know she would wait with Beth for awhile and that she had  her friends coming to watch and take her daughter.  Then once again thanked the them before they left.
