"You and mom will come and visit again soon right?" Melanie asked as Brian set his suitcase by the door. The cab would be there shortly, then he would be off towards the airport. Brian looked up at his daughter with a small smile. He planned on only staying over the weekend. But after the fiasco of Saturday night. He chose to stay a few extra days. So he could spend time with his daughter. Along with getting to know his soon to be son in law. Which. Brian found to be not as bad as he thought. At the end of the stay. He decided Anthony was an alright guy. He realized Anthony was willing to do what it took in protecting Melanie. And be with her no matter what. Anyone who was willing to do as such for his daughter. Was okay in his book. At least.. They figured out they could tolerate one another. The two could be in the same room without striking up any arguments. Of course both men still had some issues to work through. But Anthony and Brian were finally at least willing to work everything out.
"Of course we will. Especially now we have that granddaughter of ours." He winked. "We would love seeing her again. Your mother talked up a storm of Beth when she returned from her weekend. And she had zillions of videos she showed me."
Melanie chuckled. As her father was slightly exaggerating. But was also aware her mother had taken quite a bit of photos. "Oh I can imagine." Just then, the sound of a horn honking was heard from the street down below their apartment. Which signaled, time to go. Melanie sighed. Though the weekend started off rough. She had enjoyed her father there visiting them. She missed him. And wished he could stay a little longer. Melanie took a few steps forward, then leaned in, giving him a hug. As Brian felt Melanie's arms wrap around him. He wrapped his arms around her in return. The two hugged goodbye before Brian pulled away and glanced at Anthony. "Make sure you take good care of my daughter now.. You hear?" His voice had a hint of a warning but Melanie and Anthony also knew he was kidding. Melanie simply rolled her eyes. "Don't worry sir. I plan on taking excellent care of her." Brian smirked at Anthony's words. He could hear the sarcasm in them. But could tell Anthony also had been teasing. As he tried getting Brian back.
"What do I do with the two of you?" Melanie asked. Brian kept his smirk on his face. Giving Anthony a small wink. Just then another honk came, reminding Brian he needed to get going. "Saved by the bell." Brian stated. "Guess that's my cue to leave." Melanie shook her head. "Goodbye dad." She chuckled slightly as she said the words. Brian picked up his suitcase and opened the door. Giving both of them a smile and a nod of his head. "Goodbye Melanie.. Anthony.." He then slipped outside the apartment. Closed the door behind him and headed downstairs, towards the cab.
After Brian left, Melanie looked over at Anthony. Giving a shy smile. "So.. What now?" She asked. A small smirk formed on Anthony's features as he stepped up close towards Melanie. Wrapping his arms around her. Melanie smiled back in return as her arms wrapped around his neck. "I have a few ideas." He stated, looking her straight in the eyes.
Melanie rolled her eyes playfully. But found herself taking a few steps closer towards him. "Is that all you think about?" She slightly teased. Anthony kept his watch on Mel. The smirk stayed on his face. "No.. The other half of the times I think about food." He teased. Giving Mel a small wink. Melanie laughed. "I'm confused. Does that mean you're hungry? Or?.." She asked. Not wanting to say the other thing out loud in case Beth could hear. Melanie knew Beth was still young. But she had started to understand some things.. And Melanie became worried Beth might catch on to such.. As Beth after all, is quite smart for her age.
"Weelll..." Anthony said in a drawled voice. Melanie's face blushed slightly at the thought. It occurred to her, it had been awhile since they were alone together. But with Bethany here.. Melanie wasn't so sure that was the best idea. "We aren't alone.." She reminded him. "Is that always your excuse?" He asked, mocking Melanie. Melanie narrowed her eyes at his question as she could hear the frustration in his voice.
