As Melanie's appointment at the wedding boutique wasn't till later this afternoon. She and her mother was able to stay at the house to relax. The two of them chatted while they watched Beth together. Melanie was rather surprised how quickly Beth seemed to warm up to her mother. And wanted Jennifer to play with her. Which got Melanie slightly jealous. As due to Melanie's attempt in abandoning her and Anthony, it took her own daughter awhile to become attached to her. It seemed like to Mel, that she warmed up to everyone right away except her. Melanie supposed she couldn't blame Beth. She knew her daughter only wanted to be sure her mother wasn't going to try and run off on her again. But her mother wasn't exactly a fan of Melanie having Beth either. The only difference was, Beth wasn't aware.

Victoria was going to come after dinner so the two of them could brainstorm some more last minute detailed ideas. Melanie for the most part, believed she had been able to get most things done she needed with Anthony. Victoria was going to come early to help Melanie go through the list, to help with any last minute things. Melanie also invited her old supervisor and coworker Rachel to come dress shopping with them. Along with her other coworker Audrey. As she allowed them to be a part of her day as well. Melanie hadn't seen or talked to them since she had been asked to leave. But she did miss them. Plus, Victoria thought it was a good time to show Rachel that Melanie was slowly becoming better with Anthony being a part of her life. Victoria she knew, was hoping that Rachel would be able to see Melanie changed. She could handle things now, and hope Rachel would offer Melanie her spot back on the team.

Melanie had learned from Victoria, Rachel hadn't hired anyone since Melanie left. She knew they were short a member on the surgical team, which is why Victoria was pulling double duty. So there was a fill in. But the job wasn't offered permanently to anyone new yet. Because as Victoria mentioned to Melanie, Rachel wanted Melanie back on the team. Though she wasn't about to admit that. Melanie was certain Victoria probably tried to push Rachel to try to call Mel again about giving her position back. But Rachel could be rather stubborn herself.

Though she knew Victoria meant well, to help her, Melanie wished Victoria would back up. Melanie was able to take care of herself after all. But Victoria had been too used to helping her these past three years after the accident. Melanie still had a ways to go. But she was slowly starting to work on it. Anthony and Beth had helped her. If Melanie wanted to, she would've gone to talk to Rachel sooner about going back to work. Which she wasn't sure she even wanted to do with Beth here. Melanie enjoyed the fact she could stay at the house and spend the day with her daughter. She knew she couldn't stay at home forever. Beth would be starting school when she was older, and Melanie would be bored out of her mind while she waited for her daughter to get back. She had considered what Anthony suggested. Find something she liked to do so she had things to do that kept her occupied while Beth was at school. But the only problem with Melanie was, she couldn't see herself doing anything else except nursing. It was something she had known most of her life and had wanted to do since she was a kid.

Melanie had thought it strange at first with the major change, when Rachel had let her go. But now she had gotten used to this routine. She wouldn't have it any other way. She was glad things happened as they did. Because then she wouldn't of gotten to spend as much time with Beth as she had. They wouldn't of gotten to have all that time to bond. Which they needed. Without those moments. Melanie was certain she wouldn't of been able to be as attached to her daughter or her daughter as attached to her.

"Earth to Melanie!" Melanie's heart pounded fast as she heard her mother's voice in the distance. By the way her voice sounded, she thought something had happened to Beth. However, when she was able to pull out of her daydream from the past events. She spotted her daughter as she stood in front of her. Melanie chuckled as she saw Beth hold out her toy phone to her. The toy had become her new favorite toy, replacing the doll. "Oh! Is the call for me?" She asked. Beth nodded her head as she extended her hand out closer towards Mel, since she hadn't taken the phone from her yet. Jennifer raised her eye as she watched her daughter. Not sure what Melanie had been thinking.
