Somewhere In My Heart: Chapter 6

“This is it!”

Luke's Point of view:

I woke up to my own excitement and anxiousness. ‘Today’s the day’ I thought to myself.

I grabbed a towel and went out to take bath and as I did, I warmed up my voice. May nagsabi kasi sa’kin na gawin ko yun, he said it’ll help me sing better. Since then ginagawa ko na yun at masasabi kong nakatulong talaga yun sa'kin. Kailangan ko sigurong magpasalamat sa taong yun.

Once I was finished, pinatuyo ko ang buhok ko gamit ang blower at pagkatapos inayos ko ang buhok ko.

Pagkatapos lumabas na ako ng banyo and headed back to my room.

Naghanap ako ng damit na maisusuot sa closet. Napili kong magsuot lang ng casual and comfortable cloths; baggy pants and a red shirt layered with a white jacket and rubber shoes. Simplicity is beauty sabi nga ng ilan. Di ako ganun ka choosy sa isusuot. Basta damit okay lang, di naman party ang pupuntahan ko para mag-ayos ng sobra sobra.

I went down to eat my breakfast. Pagkababa ko sa kusina agad akong binati ni mom and Keith na nauna ng kumain ng breakfast.

“So, Kuya are you ready?” Bungad sa’kin ni Keith. Tahimik akong umupo sa tabi niya. Lalo tuloy akong kinabahan sa tanong niyang yun. ‘Relax, Luke! Kaya mo yan.’

“As I’ll ever be.” Pilit akong ngumiti sa kabila ng kaba.

“Don’t be nervous Luke. Kaya mo yan! Ikaw pa, mana ka sa’kin.” mom cheered me on. Great! Mas lalo tuloy akong na pressure.

“Kuya the best ka!” Keith added while giving me two thumbs up. Oh boy!

“Thanks mom, thanks Keith. I'll do my best!” I said at tinapos na ang pagkain. I bid my goodbyes and went out to catch a bus.

I rode the next bus to Katipunan, it’s was only a short ride from our house pero bakit parang mas mabilis ang biyahe pag kabado. ‘Calm down, Luke!’

I asked the bus to stop in front of a yellowish building and got off (I already paid once I got in) as it did.

The sign in the middle of the building said “TVMent”, which stands for TV entertainment, the biggest and the most well known artist agency/company in Philippine. Oh ha! Kala niyo sa Korea lang meron. Papahuli ba ang Pinas? Haha!

I entered the door which had a sign "Entrance for Youth Best Contestants” Nung mabasa ko yung sign mas lalo akong kinabahan. Ito na ‘to! Wala ng atrasan. ‘You can do it, Luke. Go for it.’
