“Too high to reach”
“BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!” I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. I groggily pulled myself out of bed and got myself ready for school.
Isang linggo na ang lumipas and Keith is still ignoring me…
I mean, di ko maintindihan kung bakit niya ginagawang big deal. I don’t get it.
Ni hindi ko pa nga nasasagot yung tanong niya! Tapos eto siya hindi ako pinapansin.
“Come eat your breakfast now, Yana!” Mom chirped as I got down the stairs.
“No thanks, Mom. Hindi po ako gutom.” I simply said.
“Pero hindi ka pa kumakain since last night, honey. Magkakasakit ka niyan.” she said concerned.
“I’ll be okay, mom…” I grabbed my bag, walked back to her and kissed her on the cheek. ‘I’m sorry mom.’ I thought.
“Alis na po ako, mom. Bye!” I said.
“Okay, ingat ka. Bye...” she said in an unsure tone.
I went out to catch the next bus to our school.
Habang nasa biyahe I can’t help but daze out the window and think ‘Does it kill you like it does to me?’
Nakarating ako ng school, only to be welcomed by girls, crowded in the front entrance.
Isang linggo palang nung nagsimula ng naging trainee si Mau. Pero Mau’s fan girls increased as fast as rapid fire. Sikat na siya sa school dati pa at marami na talaga siyang fans pero simula nung kumalat ang balita na nanalo siya sa ‘Youth Best Contest’ at naging trainee he instantly became the hot topic in conversation in our school. Dahil din dun mas dumami pa ang fans niya.
I managed to get pass through the fan girls alive. As I walk away from the crowd, the screams seem to grow louder.
‘He’s here.’ I thought.
I just stood there as I watch him push his way through the flood of fan girls.
‘There he is!’ I saw him.
“Mau, Good morning!” I called his attention, kaya naman agad siyang napalingon sa akin.
Nakita niya ako kahit na ang daming tao. He weakly smiled at me. I smile back, earning glares and/or disgusted expressions from his fan girls. Kung nakakamatay lang ang titig kanina pa ako wala sa mundong ibabaw. Para na nila akong pinapatay sa titig, kyaa~ nakakatakot.
I just shrug it off and turned around to walk to my class room. As I did, my eyes locked with familiar dark brown orbs. He had an expressionless look on his face and turned away from my gaze.
