Don't Say It

I had been packing in my room for an extra ten minutes, making sure I had mass supplies of bras, pants, socks and extra clothes. I really didn't want to run out while out in New York, not only would it be embarrassing for me, but for the whole team. I really didn't know what to expect of the trip, I had been told nearly nothing. Why were we going? What was going to happen there? After a minute of thinking, there was a rushed knocking on the door. I ran over, swiped my hand, and watched the door open to a rather panicked Ward.

"I heard you were going to Stark Tower."

"Fitz?" I assumed, knowing I told no one else of the trip, unless the Avengers had made the new spread round to the agents. He nodded, he seemed a bit under the weather and looked disappointed. Was he upset that I was leaving, even if he was, I'm only going for a month which wasn't too bad. And how my days are going so far, it should fly by.

"Yeah, I am. But I'll be back in a month and I'll annoy you then." We both laughed, me more than him. He was seriously bothered by this and I didn't know why? He put his hand on my shoulder and just looked me dead in the eye before continuing.

"Just stay safe okay. Don't put yourself in any danger and don't get to close to Stark." I smiled once again at his protective attitude, also giggling slightly at the comment made about Tony. Stark always seemed like he was a touchy-feely, invade your privacy man, but I trusted him, even with our limited introduction. I hugged him one last time before I grabbed my things and went through the hallways, up the stairs to the top deck. There was a plane waiting for us, or should I say me as I was the last one to board. I took a seat next to Bruce and put down my bags. Apparently, Tony was already at his place and was waiting for us to arrive. I quickly looked around the ship one last time then looked out the window at the beautiful view of the sky and ocean as we left the ground. It was 4am and the sun hadn't broken the horizon yet, but the orange sky suggested it was close.

I fell asleep for most of the ride there but luckily woke up just before we landed so no one would have to wake up. Even though I had been on planes previously, I was still quite new to the whole 'flying' thing, and from experience, landing was the worst part. As the plane was slowly getting closer to the floor, I started to tense up, wrapping my hands around the arm rest and closing my eyes every time the plane would shake.

"Afraid of flying?" Asked Banner next to me. I turned and smiled, easing up the tiniest bit.

"It's the landing that scares me." I replied, trying my best to look brave.

"Trust me, the landings the best part." He answered. I chuckled at his reply before laying my head back, still trying to block out the surroundings.

"You might want to get used to flying, your going to be flying most places. Also, you do... fly yourself." Steve intervened, his first comment reminding me of my first conversation with Fitz and how he travels a lot. His second comment also leaving me a bit sour. I knew that these powers were apart of me now, but I was still very used to and cautious about them. The fact he seemed to take them so lightly and talk without much thought to how I was feeling made me feel quite detached. I thought we were getting on well, but maybe I was just over analysing his comment.

As the wheels touched down and the door opened, I practically ran out of the plane and hugged the concrete floor below. I looked up at the large Stark Tower and was shocked at how tall it actually way, it looked a lot smaller in the photos. As we walked inside we were greeted by a sweet lady who told us the floor Tony was on. Luckily, or maybe unluckily, we all managed to fit into one elevator, although it was very squished, and I thought I felt something touch me butt. I was squashed right up next to Steve and without being awkward, I smiled up to him. He seemed the chuckle slightly before staring straight forward, his face returning to the blankness it held before.

The elevator stopped on a specific floor and opened to a large hallway. We all seemed a bit stumped when we were greeted with two doors, no one knowing which one was the right one. Romanoff stepped through all of us and walked into the second door, clearly, she knew her way around Stark's place. As she pushed open the doors we were all greeted by a very modern looking living room. Just as we all started to clamber in, Tony popped up from the counter to the right of us, he was holding a cup with some liquid inside, possible beer.

"Come in, come in. Hey, Thor, nice to see you buddy, how's Loki? Banner, how's the whole green situation? Maddy, it's very nice to see you again!" He exclaimed as he looked me up and down, I gaged slightly before following everyone to the sofas. "Now, I have a few rules. Firstly, don't touch the suits, secondly, downstairs is off limits, thirdly, can eat anything from the fridge except the things that say. "DO NOT EAT! THIS BELONGS TO TONY STARK!" He said sternly before smiling to all of us. I took the rules into mind, I was a guest here and needed to respect his house, also, I did not want to be the girl that got thrown out of Stark Tower for eating one of Tony's apples.

After Tony finished his little speech, he took us to the rooms where we would be staying. He started assigning rooms for everyone until he came to the last room. Unfortunately, there were two of us left. Me and Steve. Although I didn't mind sharing rooms, I didn't particularly want to share a room with Steve. I do like him obviously, I just know I will end up embarrassing myself like I did this morning in bed. I subtly looked up to Steve, but his expression was unreadable. Stark had obviously made it so me and Steve had to share a room, and it was written all over his smirking face.

"You two will be sharing a room."
