The Shattering Tale (Dark)(On Pause)

11. Confession?

"Dev... Wake up" says Sonakshi as she enters his room.

"Sshh Sonakshi, I think he just slept now!" says a voice just behind her.

"You?" she screams and the person laughs. It was a dark shadow..... The bulb fused and the maniac laughter filled in the air of the darkroom.

She ran towards Dev and shook him to wake him up.

"Dev.." she was panicking as he wasn't responding at all. "Get up Dev" she screams and the devil comes nearer. "He will never" the devil hisses.

She removes the blanket and it was all to shook her world upside-down.

The blood was furiously oozing out of his stomach and the knife was pierced inside.

"Devvvvvv" she screams and gets up. "Sona..... Sshh... What happened?" Ele gets up with a jerk. Sonakshi realizes that she was in her room, under her blanket. Which indicated that she has just gone through a bad dream. She sighs. "I need to check on him...." says she. It was 3:30 am and Ele even tried to stop her but she rushed to his room.

Unlike other days, she finds him sleeping on the study table. Usually, he does not get sleep. She slowly walks towards him and caresses his hair.

The weather was chilled and he had slept on some diary. Which means he was writing something.

"What was he writing? Was it about him and his past!?" she questions herself. The diary was closed and this annoyed her. She desperately wanted to see the pages inside it.

Then suddenly a shadow passed from her back. She widened her eyes and was just praying that Dev was safe.

"Dev" she shakes him. He was still sleeping. "Dev..." she shakes him harder. No reply.

"Dev" she panics.

"He'll not get up," says a voice from behind.

She turns only to find Dr. Nisha with a smile.

"Why?" she asks.

"Actually... He's not getting proper sleep so..... I have given him few sleeping pills."

"But he must have avoided it! I have warned him not to take them."

"See... Sonakshi, he's going through so much and so he can not sleep on his own right? His body needs rest and he keeps torturing himself."

"I know that... But don't you think he has to start on his own. He should not get dependent upon such medicines. And by the way, I have planned to take the first session by tomorrow, that was the first reason I asked him to not take pills"

"Well..... I'm sorry, I mixed it in his milk..... Cause I was unable to see him torturing himself every night"

"It's okay."

The next evening.

Sonakshi comes out of her room with a suitcase. "What are you doing Sona?" asks Ele.

"I'm shifting myself in Dev's room," she states and Nisha stands up in shock. Dev looks at her, she passes him a slight smile and passes her the hesitant one.

"And Dev... Please come in the room"

He nods and follows her.
Nisha follows them but Sonakshi interrupts saying, "Only Dev".

At night,

Dev was laying on the bed as Sonakshi has scolded him and she herself was laying beside him.

"Dev...."

"........"

He was sleeping peacefully beside her. She smiles at her own and glances at him.
