Jackie's POV

I slammed open the door to my god forsaken house, instantly falling down as soon as I stood foot in the doorway. I grunted as I landed on the floor, clenching my side that was horrifically bleeding heavily. I had no strength to get up so I began to crawl, throwing my free hand to grab anything near me to push forward. So damn close, just an inch away from-

"You fucking bitch." My fingertips brushed on the end of the blade as the man steps behind me came closer and closer. Suddenly I was grabbed by my back, forcing me to turn to face the ugliest demon on this planet. He laid on top of me, wrapping his hands around my throat and slowly squeezing away my breath.

"You'd think I would forget, huh? How could I forget the most curliest hair bastard on this damn kingdom? I'm gonna enjoy watching you catch your last breath." He proceeds to squeeze harder and harder, I waited for the right opportunity to stab him.

Alas I caught my chance and stabbed him profoundly on the side of his neck. He quickly lets go to wrap his hands around his bloody neck, gurgling for a whiff of air. His body fell as I was trying to catch my own breath, I pressed on my side and got up, cursing while I was at it.

I grabbed my hair in irritation, tapping my foot against the floor. I felt Cathy arms snake around me and a sense of calmness washed over me like a bullet. I breathed out heavily.

"Don't worry love," says Catherine in a amused tone," It takes time to learn how to write, if you taught yourself how to read then this should be a walk in the park." She pecked on my cheek.

I smile, grabbing her hand and lightly gave it a kiss," I know, it's just it's far more easier to see and read words than to actually write them. And to think that reading was impossible." I chuckled, Cathy leaned closer to look at my crooked letters. She grabs on to my writing hand and leads it to the paper.

"How about we try this together, hm?" She's says, almost angelic like, making my toes curl. I smile as she swings my hand left to right, up and down, creating a perfectly cursive letter A.

I couldn't believe it, she then wrote letter by letter, each neatly and beautifully written cursively. I smiled like a fool, loving each and every moment of her teaching me and speaking to me on how to do this and that correctly.

"I love you." I said as we finished the alphabet. I turned to look at her, those shining green/blue eyes always making my heart stop. She smiles that killer smile that sends my mind to another earth, her soft pink lips moving.

"I love you." I leaned in and gingerly yet passionately kissed her, the best part is that she always kisses me back like there's no tomorrow. After kissing for what it felt like minutes, we went ahead and began our chores.

For starters I began to fix the roof for awhile before heading in for a break. I watched as Cathy swept the floor, dusted the corners of the kitchen to the living room. And to think that she had to sit and stare at her maids and servants doing the cleaning and cooking for her, guess she observed it all and taught herself. Smart girl.

I wonder, what is going on currently in the castle after the dramatic escape of Catherine and I not to mention they had my brother and David locked in the dungeon. They could have ended all of this if we were to stay a bit longer, thank the heavens we decided it's all or nothing at the end even if I was in the most worst shape to run away.

My back, surprisingly, is getting better thanks to Catherine's handy stitching and putting alcohol when needed too. Without her, I wouldn't have been even sitting here let alone doing any sort of activity involving moving my poor conditioned body. But the stitches haven't opened, guessing at this point it's fully stick and firm for me to move more often and the wounds aren't infected and burning like it was before. I smiled, she doesn't know that instead of me saving her, she actually saved me from dying of diseases and dehydration.
