Jackies P.O.V
After the soup and bread I brought up our favorite book and I began to read to her. I began where we left off and read from there on, Catherine looking concentrated in the story. Although I was reading, I couldn't stop thinking about the barber from the last time I've seen him in James house. I don't know what he's doing or where he is, which concerns me more.
"Jackie", Catherine said, bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Yes?" I said, book marking the corner of the page by folding it.
"There's someone at the door." She said, her eyes looked a bit uncomfortable.
I furrow my eyebrows conflicted with the thought of the disturbance a bothersome to Catherine. I said I'll check it out, heading downstairs and grabbing my dagger placing it in my back between my pants and shirt. I opened it slowly and peered my head out.
Oh, shit.
There, back faced to me was no other than that bloody prince, Jacob. I had to control every nerve to pull out my dagger and stab him repeatedly but instead I quickly grabbed my hoodie and covered my face to prevent him to know me.
He finally turned, I looked at him up and down and see that he is dressed rather royal, too royal...wasn't he kicked out of the castle? He smiled down at me, that smile that'll trick any women to fall into his evil spell. He bows and said.
"Good evening sir, I know that we haven't met but rather bumped into each other from Saints Joan Cathedral?" He said, his hands behind his back.
I don't remember that at all, other than marrying the love of my life there but the bumping part, not a clue.
I shook my head," I'm sorry your highness, I do not have any remembrance of any sorts of-"
He cuts me off rudely," Well I remember quite well, and I remember how you look like, I can describe how you dressed that day to spark that mind of yours."
This little cows manure, I nodded and he continued.
"Ah, I can remember you wearing a black top hat, a nice classic black and white suit with a nice touch of black polished shoes. I also remember the lady you married off to." His gaze never left mine, noticing my surprised reaction.
I wrapped my hand around my daggers handle behind my back while speaking.
"What do you want from me?" I said, low and threatening.
His stupid smile widens." I knew it was you, I just wanted to come by and give you a little present as a congratulations for your marriage! I do hope you enjoy so..." He trails off before giving me a heart attack.
"Jack."
My door was forcefully pushed opened causing me to fall back. Standing before me was the 'little' wedding gift, too bad I got a peak from it months ago. Rafael, The Broth, was there with the sharpest looking sword I've ever seen.
I made a run for it to my back door that leads to the alleyway. His heavy footsteps close behind me as I burst through the door and into the alley way. I looked around frantically and without thought, began climbing to my roof.
The Broth yelled profane word after word, almost feeling his breath in my ear. I finally made it on top and ran to a spot all to well. His giant frame finally came into view and he marched his way towards me, his hot angry eyes burning holes on my forehead.
I smile and didn't move as he came closer and closer almost inches away from stabbing me before he collapsed through the roof. That was the spot that was loose and supposedly was to be fixed this month, thank god I never did.
